How about we just meet at 11 at Cafe Rouge in the Hayes Complex.....could be easier than waiting on the side of the road, especailly if its raining again, also with the fact we don't know who we're looking for.....Cafe Rouge as suggested would be good with the extra room etc.

Hope you're all having a good week so far...
You still around Lubella?

tweedledum · 11/10/2006 10:28

Yes good idea - let's go for cafe rouge at 11am, cos all a bit complicated otherwise! And anyway it could well be p*ssing down given this horrible weather
see you then - looking forward to it!

Okay Cafe Rouge at 11 on Fri 20th. Looking foward to meeting you guys

tweedledum · 12/10/2006 18:02

I am really sorry but I am wiped out with a cold which I am sure you (+ esp any LOs) don't want to get, so I'm not going to be able to make tomorrow. Am singing in the Young Vic's new production which just opened last night (we got really nice reviews ). Think I am wiped out after zillions of rehearsals ...... hope you have fun, and let me know about any other meet-ups as would love to meet you all very soon.

Hi Tweedledum and everyone, can I play too!? I have a 3 year old boy, and number 2 is due on 9th Dec. I gave up my job so I'm at home with Joe all the time, but he starts nursery in the afternoons from this week so we have to be back in Shepherds Bush by 1pm, so we're only free mornings. Will see how first week of nursery goes, if he's not too tired we'll try to make it along on Friday if that's OK? Totally petrified about how I would recognise anyone though - never done anything like this before but don't know anyone else with babies! Indiemummy xxx

PS Tweedledum I bet I'm bigger than you, no-one can believe I have to wait until December, I look like I'm ready to pop now! When does your daughter go to nursery? Would be fun to introduce our three-year olds!

galloo · 15/10/2006 19:26

Can I join you too? I am on mat leave but not (hopefully) with bump for much longer as am 37 weeks and vast ! will have a 2 year old toddler with me ....

Kaybee7777 · 15/10/2006 21:01

Sounds cool, the more the merrier!! I guess we'll all just be looking for a large group of pregnant women/women with small kiddies
Or shall we all carry a rose between our teeth??

Bethbe · 16/10/2006 11:48

Can I come too? 35 weeks! Love cake!

lubella · 16/10/2006 13:50

lubella · 16/10/2006 13:53

So it's cafe Rouge in the hayes galleria complex
at 11 - I am working that day so will only be able to stay for a quick one but we should make it a regular thing anyway

lubella · 16/10/2006 13:54

sorry for the re-posts Bethbe of course you can come along the more the merrier

Kaybee7777 · 16/10/2006 17:05

Hi Bethbe, course you can. I have seen you post on the due in Nov thread, I think you are due a couple of days after me!

Bethbe · 16/10/2006 17:34

Hi Kaybee,

That's right - the 19th Nov! Just found out work are trying to arrange a meeting on that morning, so might not be able to come after all , but hopefully it won't be for then. Would be lovely to meet up!

Kaybee7777 · 16/10/2006 18:01

Oh fingers crossed the meeting won't be for the same time...

tweedledum · 17/10/2006 10:29

Hey great to see so many are coming . See you all in cafe rouge on Friday at 11am - they won't know what's hit them!
ps Indiemummy - people also can't believe I am not due for another 2 months, so yes some bump-comparing will be in order. And will be great to introduce our 3-yr-olds - looking forward to it.

Hi there, I am a student at Birkbeck College (Uni of London) studying an MSc Human Development, and part of my course requires me to take part in Infant Observations. While this sounds daunting (and maybe uninteresting for some...) it is not as clinical as you may think! It simply means that one hour a week, for about 18 months (probably no more), a warm and open mother will allow me into her home to 'observe' her (or her husbands/other family members) interaction with the new born. I will literally be a fly on the wall, I will not judge, speak or talk to the baby or the mother. I shall not be making notes (this is the clinical part I am afriad people will think), in fact you are not even suppose to notice me. The hour that you will allow me to visit will depend wholly upon the mother's wishes, though hopefully an hour when the baby isnt sleeping... As a mother with a new infant, I expect that some people will be thinking that this is the last thing they will want- an intruder/ and outsider. This is the last thing I would want to feel like too. I would like the mothers to know that this is completely confidential. Names will be changed etc. And if teh mother is interested- at the end of my course (June 2008) I have to submit a paper based on my observations, the motehrs are entirely entitled to read them too. As this is a requirement for my course, I have taken the necessary police/Crimincal Records Bureau Checks, and come from a background in child (and adult) related volunteer work as my CV will testify. If there are any expecting mothers who may be interested to hear more about this, but not necessarily make a commitment to allowing me their time, please contact me on [email protected]. My name is Neda, and I would also like to note that I think it would be in both of our interests if I could meet the mother during the end of her pregnancy to see if we are both comfortable with each other and ask any other questions beforehand. This will take the pressure off both of us!

I am looking for mothers who are expecting to give birth in November or December, or even January, preferably in Central London. I am based in Kensington.

Thank you so much and I really apppreciate your taking the time to read this!

Kaybee7777 · 17/10/2006 16:48

Sorry nz, but I am moving overseas mid next year, so wouldn't be around long enough..

indiemummy · 19/10/2006 09:47

Hi all, thought I'd bump this one up, I'm still hoping to come along for a bit tomorrow with my 3yo. So I'm going to approach any women with bumps and/or babies - how embarrassing I'm way too shy for all this!!! - I plan to be wearing a black and white patterned top and will have a very blonde 3yo boy with me (I'm short with brown hair and humungous belly, you can't miss me) Oh and I'm called Lucy by the way. Please approach me if you see me, I'll probably be looking lost, or maybe glancing around the room trying not to look lost, or trying to placate DS. Looking forward to meeting everyone especially the other pregnant ladies.

Indiemummy xxx

Kaybee7777 · 19/10/2006 11:36

Ha ha ha I know how you feel indiemummy, I am quite shy too so it's going to be a bit scary trying to identify everyone....
I haven't decided what to wear yet so can't really give a description apart from that i have shoulder legnth brown hair, an am almost 36wks pg, and no other kiddies with me....

galloo · 19/10/2006 22:45

I will be wearing green or black top plus black trousers - am so huge that my wardrobe choices v limited now ! My DD has fair curly(ish) hair ...

lubella · 20/10/2006 10:55

Sorry guys - I am sat here at work completely unable to get out of work commitments. Really gutted as I kind of set this meet up!

I hope everyone as a fantastic time and pleeease include me in your next meet - I go on leave in a week!
xx

tweedledum · 20/10/2006 13:11

Really nice to see those who came today and little ones - Kiwicath, sorry you coudn't make it - seeing as how you were the first to ever reply to my thread, I was looking forward to meeting you! Sorry you got caught at work Lubella. Let's do it again in a couple of weeks if we can - it would be great to have a regular thing going.
