She's like a real life girl who lives in oz, we shall stroke and kiss her and drink champagne, who's up for it.

suzywong · 05/09/2006 14:34

Woah, that's on big MF city. Do take care

so boozy lunch

anyone got any better ideas than All Bar One in Dean Street for a starting point, and is it still there?

Carmenere · 05/09/2006 14:36

In my experience Pierre Victoires in Soho is an excellent spot for a boozy lunch. Not expensive, really quite good food and decent wine, anyone else any ideas?

MarsLady · 05/09/2006 14:38

I couldn't be more definite if I tried! I'm in in in in in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Boozy lunch in Soho, preceded by obscene amounts of shopping in the am! Fab!!

suzywong · 05/09/2006 14:41

Mars i know there are a hardcore few but I don't want endless moaning ever after that anyone was left out or didn't know

Pierre Victoirre, is that the French Version of the Stockpot? only a bit better?

Carmenere · 05/09/2006 14:46

here It was a large chain but I think this and a few in Edinborough are the only ones left. It's really nice, very relaxed and decent food, I think it could fit the bill nicely.

MarsLady · 05/09/2006 14:46

Well we'll just have to keep this bumped then.

Ooh I know... nothing gets people more keen than hearing that there's a limit on spaces and a deadline. So tell them only 10 people allowed book by Sunday. lol That'll get them flocking in, including the 2 people who really didn't think that you meant Sunday so next Wednesday they'll be begging piteously for a place.

suzywong · 05/09/2006 14:50

Well that looks good to me, it's got very good reviews Carnemere

The only reason I suggested ABO is that you pay for your food orders separately and I refuse point blank to get involved in any form of bill splitting as it makes me nervoud, IYSWIM

suzywong · 05/09/2006 14:51

sorry got your name completely wrong

Carmenere · 05/09/2006 14:52

Ah yes, I see.. good point, sorry I thought you meant just to meet there, in that case ABO sounds just right.

Carmenere · 05/09/2006 14:53

Tell you what, they are very near each other so the lushes who are still around at dinner time can go there

suzywong · 05/09/2006 14:54

Is the food still OK at ABO or is it a bit touristy?
I am liking PV though.
Wherever we start there will be a trip to Valeries for a bun and fags and coffee on the pavement at Bar Italia, Where me and dh did our courting, you may have to stop me getting nostalgic at that point.

Not sure about the food in ABO but Valeries was crap last time I was there, really bad service, not great cakes and very expensive, but I would second a fag and espresso outside Bar Italia(although I don't strictly smoke, I may make an exception)

suzywong · 05/09/2006 15:09

am gutted to hear that about Valeries, I have been hanging out for a coffee religuise

Bar Italia and then the 134 bus home........ah happy days
Me too about the smoking, but we'll bum a fag of someone that's for sure

suzywong · 05/09/2006 15:31

right, it's my bed time now

do a couple of bumps would ya and I'll buy you a drink. Thanks

Molesworth · 05/09/2006 15:32

Pat Val's was fab last time I went there though

Especially the coffee eclairs

suzywong · 05/09/2006 15:33

that's the ones I'm after- coffe eclairs shaped like cottage loaves YUM

bundle · 05/09/2006 15:35

cakes Ok at valeries (the one at RIBA near regents park, not soho) but service has always been APPALLING

is there a TAS near soho? had lots of lovely turkish tapasy stuff there in my time

MarsLady · 05/09/2006 15:40

As long as I know where to come! lol

Carmenere · 05/09/2006 15:43

I just took against it(Vals) as I brought my parents from Ireland there as a pre theatre treat(I'd bigged it up as a lovely place) and they were really rude and I get protective when people are mean to my parents so I have taken a turn against it
Don't know about TAS but have heard it's good.

MarsLady · 06/09/2006 22:10
