i am a 23 year old mum to ds who is just over 4 months. Am on maternity leave and seem to find myself trawling shops every day to get out and about. I am not very confident when it comes to meeting new people, but feel that now ds is here it would be great to meet other mums in the area.Would also appreciate suggestions for alternative things to do in the area with bubs.

Hi jade83, have you tried any mother and baby groups in your area at all? It might help your confidence a little - there are probably lots of other people in the same boat. Unfortunately I am a little too far from you (Harlow). I do like a good old look round Lakeside though!!!

I'm in Chadwell Heath but have a friend who lives in Grays and there's quite alot to do around there.She's been to a baby signing group,music group and there's story sessions at the libraries.Let me know what kind of things you're interested in,and I'll ask her for you.

Thanks for the replies! Never really been on this site before, but it's so nice to know people can help. I wouldn't know where to start looking for things to do, so it would be good to hear about things in the area from your friend, Bubbaloo. The story sessions in the libraries sounds good. Could you find out about it for me?
