Hi I have a daughter Abigail who is three months, I am originally from nr Birmingham and have lived up here for 6 years, I still don't know many people and have no family locally

A2 · 17/06/2006 21:01

Hi, I know it can be difficult when you live quite a way from your family. I live in a village which is very nice and I go to the mother toddler group, but I still don't really know anybody here. Fortunately, the weather is really nice, so I can take Emily on lots of walks!!

Hi, i manage to get out to a few baby groups as well, they are a bit of a lifeline at times. We back on to a park so it's nice to be able to go out for walks though has been just a little too hot lately to be taking Abigail out.

A2 · 18/06/2006 11:36

Yes, it's nice to be able to go out for a walk, I try to take Emily out each day, when possible, today it's cooler..waiting for the rain to stop, then hopefully will get out this afternoon. I'm still new to the mother toddler group, but they are a good way to meet people and have a chat.

Hi, just thought i'd tell you a little bit more about myself. I am currently on mat. leave and will be off until next march. Hopefully I will then go back part-time. I am an Occupational Therapist and work in Co. Durham so have a fair commute each day.
Currently enjoying being at home, and managing to find lots to do.
Hope you and Emily are ok today
Vicky

Hi Vicky,
that must be interesting work. I don't work at the moment. I used to be an adviser for people with disabilities, before my husband started working abroad. Now we've returned home and I'm trying to get settled in Heighington Village. It seems a nice place. Went to the mother toddler group today..think it will take a while for me to get to know people. I also find plenty to do in the day, hope you had a good day, hopefully the weather will turn nice again,
Andrea.

Hi how are you? I've been really busy past two days as we are away at the w/e and I'm trying to get up straight.
Went to have car seat checked yesterday and I was fitting it wrong, so glad I went especially as have long journey on Fri.
Had Abi weighed as well yesterday she has put on 2ozs this week so now totals 6ozs in a month, not sure what she does with all the milk though, hv isn't worried so we will just see how she goes.
Where about's were you living abroad? I've never been anywhere as I won't get on a plane and husband won't go by boat.
Vicky

Hi, hope you are going somewhere nice, Emily is ill at the moment, she has a heavy cold, so have spent the day carrying her everywhere...does wonders for your back!! We were living in Milan for two years, then moved to Basel, Switzerland for a year, where Emily was born, was certainly an interesting experience!! Don't think we'll be going abroad again any time soon, would just like to settle here now!
Hope you have a lovely weekend and glad Abigail is doing well,

Andrea.

Hi how are you? We had a lovely weekend at my sister's, it was my nephew's 3rd birthday party so quite busy. The journey wasn't too bad, though we did travel back during the England match. Just went shopping today so nothing exciting. Hope you and Emily are ok.
Vicky

Hi, hope your move goes alright,as I said previously I'm mum to Abigail who is currently fast asleep. I live in Hemlington at the mo.

quanglewangle · 26/06/2006 20:45

Can I join in? I am so jealous - I wanted to move to a lovely house in Heighington about a year ago. Alas no one else wanted to move, well it was along way from dds's school, about 20 miles! I wonder if it is the same house? Probably not.
So, yes, I live about 40 minutes away. Any meet-ups, count me in!!

EvesMama · 27/06/2006 19:08

Hi hope everyone is ok, I've had a busy week this week and I'm not quite sure where the time has gone. We are all full of cold at the mo as well which isn't fun.
Vicky

A2 · 30/06/2006 22:46

Hi Vicky,

Sorry to hear you're all full of cold, we've all just got over ours. Emily has her baptism this Sunday, so just looking towards that at the mo, weather is really nice, going on lots of walks and trying to do a bit of cycling (first time since I was 10, which is a long time ago!!)

Take care, hope you feel better soon,
Andrea.

Hi how are you? We are still all full of cold, I just can't seem to shake it off, it's so hard being ill when you're a mum. I've still managed to do a few things this week though to keep busy, we are going to try and go swimming again tomorrow,
I hope that everyon eis well and not sufferin gtoo much in this heat.

A2 · 06/07/2006 20:24

Hi, sorry to hear you're still full of cold, it is very hot, took Emily to the park at Redworth Hall today but she just cried, so had to bring her back! Think it was a combination of heat and tiredness. Think we'll just have a quiet weekend this time, had Emily's baptism last Sunday and it went very well..well mostly! She doesn't like being quiet and still for very long!
Hope you are feeling better soon,
Andrea x.

Hi hope you are ok, sorry about the length of time to reply but time just seems to fly by and suddenly another week has gone.
We are all hopefully going to the seaside later - to enjoy this sunshine, yesterday we went down to the designer outlet in York, Abigail fared the best, I didn't buy much 'cos I am still changing size and shape.
Hope you are all well
Vicky

A2 · 15/07/2006 22:13

Hi Vicky,

Hope you had a nice day at the seaside, we had a quiet day at home, enjoying the sunshine. Tomorrow we are going to Newby Hall with my parents-in-law. Looking forward to a day out, the weather is supposed to be good all weekend, so fingers crossed! Hope you have all recovered from your cold now. Emily is really enjoying the summer, it's getting really difficult to prise her out of the garden these days!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend,

Andrea x.
