Hi Kbear DD1 is not starting reception until Jan so currently have 3 at home during the day. I was thinking how easy my life would have been if we had stopped at 2 Grin but obv wouldn't give up DD2 and DS2 for the world. Coffee and chat would be good a spare pair of hands for my ones is always handy, we can compare notes on camping Smile
Yes OM thats me!

Hi all - I've been off this site for ages - I'm glad another thread started. We've got visitors pretty much the whole of July but are free until the 12th for a meet up - we could do next Monday or Tuesday Kbear and anyone else!

Also, do any of you have recommendations for a toddler group around Blackheath that isn't too big? My ds is 18 months old now and I really want to get him socializing but he shuts down around too many kids for at least 30 minutes until he warms up...

Tex111 · 04/07/2006 11:17

Hi ladies, just popping on to answer Jen's question - have you tried the All Saints church playgroups? They're run by a lady named Celia (I think). I found her number posted on the door of the kitchen shop in the village. We go to the Wed morning group and it's about 6 or 7 kids. Sometimes less. Nice moms too.

OlliesMum · 04/07/2006 21:24

Hi girls.

I go to a small toddler group wed morns in Eltham if that helps. Used to go to Chaos toddler group in Blackheath/Kidbrooke but WAS chaos!!

Whats everyone's thoughts on a meet up this month in Danson Park?

jenweber630 · 05/07/2006 15:46

A meetup this next week Mon/Tue works for us but after that the in-laws are coming for the rest of the month with some friends visiting right on their tail... And Tex - that sounds perfect - I've heard of their playgroups but hadn't ever gone. What time on Wednesday morning? And what's the age range? We could probably swing this week as in-laws won't be arriving until around 2pm-ish...

Also - anyone know of a good outdoor pool somewhere around here - even 30+ minutes away is fine. (As long as we're not going to get electrocuted by all the lightening of late that is...)

KBear · 05/07/2006 15:58

Jen - there is a new splashpark in Belvedere, on Woolwich Road. Opens at 11 am - 5pm. Perfect for toddlers before the school kids let loose there. No deep water, a little pirate ship and water sprays and fountains. Swim nappies compulsory. It's FREE too. Ice cream kiosk there too and clean loos. Call 020 8303 7777 -Bexley council - to check it's open before you leave home - sometimes they have filter or pump problems and it stays shut.

I have a packed July with school stuff, meetings, fairs etc etc as well as work so count me out. DS starting school in Sept - Jen what will I doooooo?

Must catch up soon.

KBear · 05/07/2006 15:58

I meant count me out for the Danson Park meet up!

Tex111 · 05/07/2006 16:26

Hi Jen

Sorry I missed your post until now! We go Wed mornings at 10.30, though missed this morning because DD had a dr appt. Went to Gambado today. Has anyone else been? Thought it was great except no AC! It was boiling but DS had a fantastic time.

jenweber630 · 05/07/2006 17:54

I'll try to come next Wednesday - it's in the diary... What exactly is Gambado?

Tex111 · 06/07/2006 10:36

Gambado is a huge softplay centre in Bexleyheath. New, clean, nice cafe with very nice sandwiches, jacket potatoes, etc. Very refreshing after so many grubby playcentres.

Jen, I would recommend ringing Celia if you get a chance before next week. I think they like to know who's coming as it's such a small group. It's not closed or anything but must admit I've never seen anyone drop in.

KBear · 06/07/2006 11:38

Tex - whereabouts in Bexleyheath? - that's my neck of the woods and I've not come across it or heard of it.
