Harrow WEEKEND, mum&toddler meet up OR SA mums?

Any mums with baby/toddlers, bored over the weekend with partners who work Saturday or Sunday? I work full time weekdays and am at home weekends with a toddler, anyone else in the same boat? I also come from SA so any mums missing family and friendly faces out there? Found 2 weekend toddler groups to try or there are great parks for picnics, playcentres locally.

did you get any responses? I've recently moved to harrow and dh will be v busy (and I wont be) at weekends although the next couple of months are unlikely. From sept onwards I'd love to go to groups etc as we'll be hoome alone, not from SA though.

Hi, thanks for replying. Not many responses from mumsnet. I must have a unique situation with hubby working weekends! I have met lots of people through my posting on www.netmums.co.uk on the Harrow noticeboard, why don't you put a posting on there. I am keen to meet people from all backgrounds not just SA expats so it would be great to get in touch. Do you have one or two children?

I know a mum that lives in South Harrow who works full time, has a young boy and originally from SA. She's always looking for mums to hook up with. Would be nice if I could hook the 2 of you up somehow. Her DH just passedknowledge so will no doubt be out at weekends too.

Hi, great, two more responses! CYAN, I have a little boy of 2. We are Queensbury/Edgware and really close to Stanmore. I often go to Centenary park off Culver Grove after work or on a Sunday afternoon.

THOMCAT please refer your friend if she wants to write in on this thread. Thanks for your replies!

I know Culver Grove and the park there, tha's about a 2 minute drive from where I live. I live nr Canons Park tube. You probably arent too far from me.

My ds is 17 months, a handful at the moment! We go to Topsy Turvy world at Brent X or Bushey sometimes, or Roundwood Park is our fave at the moment. Gorgeous park.!!!

Which toddler gropus are you going to?

alexw · 16/07/2006 19:25

Hi, I live in Harrow and have 18 month old dd. I work week days and dh plays cricket on sundays so always at a loose end then. Would love some company on Sundays...

cyan · 17/07/2006 15:25

Hi alex, my LO is close in age to yours. I'm free most of the time so would be nice to meet up. Would anyone fancy a meet up soon????

Maybe a park or something?

saffymum · 21/07/2006 13:39

Hi, we're off to the airshow this weekend but what about in two weeks time? If the park is close (the one I mentioned lower in the thread) then perhaps we can meet there for an hour or so while the children play?

cyan · 28/07/2006 16:55

would anyone fancy a meet up the week after next?

manitz · 28/07/2006 17:38

sorry not been back for a while as busy at work (working rather than mn recently, novel!). I have two girls who are 3y6m and 19m. I live in central harrow. I might be around for a meet up w/e after next but am going on hols soon. I've met quite a few people already through preschool playgroup but always nice to meet more. particularly ones that work.

saffymum · 31/07/2006 15:31

Hi everyone, what about this Sunday afternoon? I can be there (Century park) for about 3pm if this suits anyone else?

Hi, I didn't make it to the park till late yesterday, sorry, my son was sleeping. I realise that nobody responded to the meet up request anyway so I don't know if anyone of you tried to get there or not? I hope nobody was left waiting. We're going on holiday now till first weekend in Sept. If anyone does want to meet up at a later stage (when you are free after all the holiday madeness etc), just email me on weekendwidow at hotmail dot co dot uk as my hubby will now be working like a mad thing until December. I will have every weekend free from beginning Sept to right up to January. Take care ladies.
