This might be the second year I've had to pull out last minute

DS1 started with Chicken pox on Monday. Do you think he'll still be contagious on the 4th?

MadameButterfly · 30/07/2006 17:27

5 days to go.

Gingerbear · 30/07/2006 17:32

I will let you know. DH may be working - in which case, we will be on the train, otherwise we may be elsewhere.

Neena28 · 30/07/2006 17:36

Can people from Leicester come too?

How do I know where to meet everyone and that I am goign to talk to the right people. Sorry hate anything like this where I don't 'know' people.

Thanks

Gingerbear · 30/07/2006 17:44

Neena, last time we either met at the station or outside the castle at a certain time. Don't worry, everyone is friendly - look for a big gang of women with buggies!!

MadameButterfly · 30/07/2006 17:47

Neena, I can coming from Sutton Coldfield, nesar Birmingham.

As Gb has said, just look out for a crowd of mums and kids

Squarer · 30/07/2006 18:26

What do you look like Neena? Will you have a buggy? We can wave if anyone sees you loitering about uncertainly

Ponka! I'd be more than happy if my DS caught it and got it out of the way with (or is that an urban myth?) Can't speak for everyone else though...

Neena28 · 30/07/2006 18:31

Squarer would be with a (dare I say it) black bugaboo and a five year old ds. I'm about 5'8 and size 12. Have got shoulder length brown curly hair.

5 year old wouldn't be in the pushchair dd (age 1) would!

Thanks sounds nice and Friday is about the only day I have free this week so would be nice to come.

Squarer · 30/07/2006 18:39

Oh don't worry... I have a 4WD pushchair. Lucky Expat doesn't live round these parts as she'd probably take a sledgehammer to it

Squarer · 30/07/2006 18:47

Meant to ask.. are people meeting at 12 outside the castle near the statue like last time, or not?
And where is Frizbe on this thread???

Ponka · 30/07/2006 22:02

I think DS is pretty much finished with the contagious part now. All his spots look scabbed over. Might be able to make it after all. Don't worry, if I am in ANY DOUBT I won't come. I wouldn't want to pass it on to others. Squarer, I don't think it's an urban myth but I'd try to avoid for a couple of years if you can! DS has taken it sooooo badly because he's not old enough to fully understand the illness. It's been a terrible week for us all.

Squarer · 30/07/2006 22:08

Ponka.. poor little mite .
Sounds like a trip to the Fun Day is just what him and his scabs need I'll look forward to seeing you all!

tillykins · 30/07/2006 22:35

I'm coming

Clary · 31/07/2006 12:04

so can we do a quick list of who's coming and shall we meet outside the castle at that statue, around 12 noon?
Bring a picnic?
names:
Clary + DS1 (7) DD (5), ds2 (3)
Fairydust + dd
hotmama + 2 DDs
Hula and dd (4)
Squarer and DS (how old is he now Squarer? 18mo???)
dozenroses + dd and Ds
jackstini and dd
SOAOM + ?
Ponka and DS
tillykins + ?
Madambutterfly and DD
Gingerbear and DD maybe?
mandymac maybe?
avoncalling maybe?

any more to add?

MadameButterfly · 31/07/2006 12:27

Jst to sort out confusion, I am Avoncalling. Have now changed back to MadameButterly though.

My DD will be 4 tomorrow

hotmama · 31/07/2006 12:36

Myself and the dd's (22 months and 25 weeks) should be coming - I had to drop out last year as dd1 had the runs-so hope to come this year!

My dd1 had chickenpox about a month ago. Your lo is no longer contagious when they have no new spots and the last one has scabbed up - may still have scabs but won't be contagious. If your los started getting chickenpox last Monday - I personally think they would be fine for Friday.

Frizbe is on holiday this week so won't be coming - said on the Feb 06 postnatal thread - I have yet to meet her!

Just as a matter of interest - how old is everyone? I'm 39 and don't want to be an old gimmer amongst you youngsters!

Squarer · 31/07/2006 12:37

Nearly 20 months Clary... how time flies!!

MadameButterfly · 31/07/2006 12:38

I am 36, just. Birthday was on Saturday

Squarer · 31/07/2006 12:39

Don't worry Hotmama (you old gimmer). I'm 35 and I'm pretty sure I wasn't the only old gimmer at the last Castle meet up

Clary · 31/07/2006 12:40

ooops sorry madamB, should've realsied that!

I put ages of my 3 in and any others I know to help anyone new ID us, so if anyone wants to give ages as a guide, please do.

Squarer, how can he be that old???

hotmama I'm 42, don't worry, y're not a gimmer at all

Ponka · 31/07/2006 14:46

29, DS 2.2, DS2 4 months. I'll be the one with the huge double tandem tank (really need engine power steering and abs for it).

Jackstini · 01/08/2006 13:54

Have just found out I have got to go to Leeds for a work appointment on Friday
Gutted as this was going to be my first MN meet-up.
Really do hope you all have a good time though and make sure you post all the details after.
I will be on the look out for any more local ones coming up.

Jackstini · 01/08/2006 13:55

And I was going to be on the side of the gimmers at 34....!

MadameButterfly · 02/08/2006 10:10

Only 2 more sleeps (as DD would say)

hulababy · 02/08/2006 10:26

Weather forecast is dry for Friday too
