any area is fine with me as i have old 7 yr old. is better if the ones with babies decide as they need more consideration my ds is happy most places

KITTEN122 · 26/10/2006 16:23

I in olinton in edinburgh so something in town would probably be best for me.

Kidstrack · 27/10/2006 13:05

Anyone else fancy an Ayrshire one, if anyone knows of anyone on here from Ayshire direct them to this thread! Kiki might just be me and you!

JennyLeEVIL · 27/10/2006 16:01

Would go to the Edinburgh one

Kitten122 gorgie farm, soft play, swimming are all good ideas, especially I like the idea of gorgie farm on a dry day or softplay

KITTEN122 · 29/10/2006 19:34

Cool can we set a date? Say a day in which most people arent as busy I can make it if it is a monday , tuesday or saturday.

JennyLeEVIL · 30/10/2006 01:10

These days are fine with me what do others think , name your days!!

prettybird · 30/10/2006 14:09

I had already started a thread here about a possible Glasgow meet-up.

JennyLeEVIL · 30/10/2006 16:03

you had more success than us !this thread has been going on for ages and I'm finding it gets largely missed

KITTEN122 · 30/10/2006 19:26

Come on there must be more people lets get this sorted

JennyLeEVIL · 30/10/2006 19:34

The success of the glasgow thread is a bit depressing since this thread has been active again for weeks and largely ignored. Kitten122 is getting a bit like we are thrashig a dead horse here but I will keep going. the stirling one in the summer has tons of people ,,,maybe I have eaten all the worms!

gscrym · 30/10/2006 21:09

I'm a no this time as I'm either away, working or recovering from nightshift.

prettybird · 31/10/2006 08:57

JennyLeEVIL, don't get disheartened. The Scottish meet-ups tend to be a bit spasmodic - there are attempts to arrange something that fizzle out and then suddenly, one will come up that hits a critical mass. In fact, I don't think even the Glasgo thread has hit that critical mass - there is not a clear date coming out as sutiable for everyone.

Having said that, there have been meet-ups with just two people which have been successful - I think it was Gomez and gscrym (or was it toothache?), I'm not sure, who decided to go ahead once when we just weren't managing to get our act together.

Sammac and I were the only two that managed to get to one at the Livingston family farm place (can't remember what it's proper name is), even though others had said they were going to be coming along.

I'm really busy at work, so I don't really have the time to try to generate the interest and pull together a date.

JennyLeEVIL · 31/10/2006 09:20

I guess it is a busy time of year for everyone

JennyLeEVIL · 31/10/2006 09:21

thats okay it is difficult
when we are all so busy

jambuttie · 31/10/2006 13:55

yeah agree there.

loobie and I were the only ones at an edinburgh meet although sure it was Gomez who sis attend too but was in a different area from us

KITTEN122 · 01/11/2006 06:54

Im going to gorgie farm with litte one next tuesday anyone who wants to come let me know

JennyLeevesmilkandcookiesforSa · 02/11/2006 09:17

Bumping this thread

sam70 · 05/12/2006 13:41

hi, new to dalkeith, 2 girls, 3 and 8 months, but no friends...anyone fancy a chat with bored ex teacher with plenty of scope for improving social life.

jambuttie · 10/12/2006 10:50

Hi Sam

Welcome to Mumsnet

I have 3 boys

1 @ 5 and my twins will be 3 in january I am in Livingston

sam70 · 16/12/2006 20:59

at last! i was beginning to think all the mums had left town!
I moved from down south before no 2 was born and have never worked here so know few people outside my husbands family. No 1 goes to st margarets pre school and i find it difficult to speak to other parents there who all seem too wrapped up in whatever they're doing to say hi. i think it's the curse of the non working mum, they all have to rush off to work whereas no one will fire me if i'm 5 mins late for a nap schedule! Thank goodness for mums and toddlers! I've found a great one here, mums more interested in organising nights out than discussing childcare regimes!
