Hi ladies - let's get something going again - I'm thinking a picnic in the park? We've got guests from the 9th through the 23rd - so maybe the last week in May? I'm thinking our chances of really nice weather increase that way - any ideas for times and places?

Hi there! I'm new to mumsnet and would love to meet up with you all. I have a 7 month old baby girl, Ella and we'll soon be moving to Brockley from East London. I'd love her to make some new friends in the area. Most of my friends don't yet have any babies and so I think this would be a fantastic opportunity to meet some new people myself. It would do us both the world of good. I hope you don't mind us coming along when you decide to fix a date. I've decided not to go back to work so I'm free most days.

Oh - and there are several of us (though not me) with children under a year old so you'll be in good company. :)

I can't as I'm going back to work on 8th May. I'd love to have a job that I could only work during the 6 winter months and have the summers off as I had brilliant fun last summer with picnics in the park. Hope you all have a good time.

Bummer bran - I bet you will miss the summer outings. We should get the boys together before you're back to work (now that Gymboree free plays are no more)... CAT me if you'd like. :)

Is anyone planning on going to the summer picnic in Hyde Park? I'm feeling a bit gunshy as I rarely post to anything but the meet-up threads - I was thinking we should plan our own sometime in July on a Saturday or Sunday in Greenwich Park...

I think it's been so long since we've had a recent thread people have stopped looking - hopefully people will get caught up by the end of May. I'm thinking maybe we should plan to get together around noon on May 29th? Or is that a bank holiday...

I am here, but so sparsely as my measly employers have cut my access. May 29th is a bank holiday and also the start of half term so I reckon a lot of people will be away. I would love Friday 9th or Friday 23rd June, being perfectly selfish for a huge humdinger of a picnic by the bandstand in Greenwich Park......How about that, anyone?????

Ah! I didn't know about the bank holiday - then let's go for June 9th? And in July we'll go for a Monday or Tuesday so kbear and join in (the two of you really should coordinate your days off!! :) ) Or would people be up for a Saturday/Sunday family picnic?

When do school holidays start? As I have only a toddler I've not a clue about these things.

Jen, I'm going to be party pooper and pass on this one.......I've got my 40th on Saturday and I've managed to get a hair appointment at 11am Friday so, I know lame excuse, but you are only 40 once......catch you on the next one, or see you around town....

Well - have a lovely 40th! And Liz - definitely come along - Mitchell and I will definitely be there along with our new neighbors who have a 15 month old boy. It will be fun. :) And anyone else that wants to come please do!!
