Dulwich Area - Anyone interested in meeting a new mum?

Hi everyone

I'm a new mum - my daughter is just five weeks old - and I'm just about to turn 30. We live in the Dulwich area, and would love to meet other mums in the area.

Look forward to hearing from you!

All the best
Wendy

Theres a few other mums around here, and quite a few around croydon etc.

I live just down the road in Streatham and have got a 9 week DD ( and DSs aged 5 and 3 so does that make me an 'old' mum? )

Are you venturing out yet? I don't think I was brave enough with my first for a quite a while. Blu and Motherinferior introduced me to the charms of the cafe at the Horniman Museum - nice and quiet in the mornings and they do a mean hot chocolate.

Bumping this up in case anyone else is around now!

motherinferior · 10/01/2004 13:23

Oh, LL, that's who you are! Been wondering! Check out the East Dulwich thread, WK - be nice to meet you.

Blu · 12/01/2004 14:22

Oooh, fab new name, LL!

Is Battersea Zoo still open? Aloha was posting about it on the London outings thread, and it sounds like an exellent meet-up opportunity! South Londoners and Battersea meet-up folk?

lydialemon · 12/01/2004 14:35

Depending on time and weather conditions Battersea Zoo sounds good - never been there myself although I used to spend my Wednesday evenings skating round and round the bandstand!

This weather calls for hot toast and indoor games I'm afraid

Great to hear from you and thanks for the advice about the Horniman Museum - I've never been there but I'll give it a go. I'm new to this discussion board stuff (not to mention motherhood!). I'm still at the timid "early days" stage where even a trip down the road with the pram seems like quite a mission! - but my DS and I have ventured out a few times. I've read the East Dulwich thread - do you all meet at the Blue Mountain Cafe on a regular basis?

there is a very active nct in your area - check their national website for local numbers/contacts. They run various activities and tea groups for mums to get in contact with each other

motherinferior · 21/01/2004 16:01

WE don't but we definitely ought to meet up soon. And I think you're doing amazingly getting out of the door at all at your stage, quite honestly. Do you fancy meeting up in a couple of weeks' time?

OK: what about a meet-up, Hornimanns Museum cafe Fri 13th 10.30 a.m?????

motherinferior · 23/01/2004 18:55

I personally cannot do Friday the 13th as will be on a train to the Midlands with dd2 (thus missing, of course, the highly romantic surprise dp would otherwise have sprung on me) but have fun!
