Hi there,
I am a mum of two living in Isleworth. I am currently seperated from my HB and have found that it is quite lonely not having any friends in the area. Would like to know if anybody is up for a chat. Thankfully i am well on te road to recovery so have no fear there shall be no tears!
I really just want to broaden my circle of friends and have some fun and have the same for my DD's who are 3 and 6.would love to hear from anyone local or even Richmond and surrounding area.
Thanks,

Hi Yanksuponthames,
It would be great to meet up, i should know my schedule bu tomorrow so perhaps we can meet up next week if the days correspond.IIt really does not matter if it is Richmond to me as it's fairly easy for me to get there and i suppose there are a few more places there.

Hi everyone, I live in Hounslow with my 11mnth and 2yr old daughters. I am interested in meeting up with mums and dads. I was widowed a few months ago and need some much needed chat with other parents. Don't know any other parents as I've only been in Hounslow a few months but I know Isleworth quite well.

Looking forward to hearing from someone,
Jack

Hi everyone! definatley up for a meet up soon. let me know when everyone is available? :o

YanksUponThames · 18/03/2006 21:54

Hi all! I'm up for a meet-up, too, but recently have been busy with dh with the flu. He says he's too knackered to be able to look after ds much, so I've been kept busy with nonstop childminding and food/medicine-fetching. Hopefully will be better in a few days, and presumably we're already no longer contagious. I will be out of town 25 March - 3 April, but might be able to meet up this week some time or the week of the 3rd. Hope everyone's doing well!

Can anyone tell me (in practical terms; I can look at their web site as well as the next person) how big/extensive/shoppable the Twickenham Tesco is, compared to the one on Syon Lane near Osterley Park? I'm trying to figure out the easiest way for me to get to a big supermarket as opposed to the small ones that are near my flat.

cece · 18/03/2006 22:01

They are about the same size. The Twickenham may be a bit bigger as it has been extended recently. Now sells more electricals and so on..

There are a few buses that run to it. Not sure from Richmond though. They have bus timetables on the wall there so will try to remember to look next time I am there...

cece · 18/03/2006 22:02

Not sure how you would get to the Osterley one. The train Syon Lane is fairly near but you have to cross a really big 6 lane road to get to the Tesco.

YanksUponThames · 19/03/2006 18:56

Thanks cece! I think I'll try the Twickenham one as I think it might be quicker even though for either one I need to change buses. The H28 bus actually goes straight to the Osterley Tesco, but I have to change buses in Isleworth and the H28 doesn't run often enough to avoid a potentially tiresome wait, and it's a bit of a hike between the needed stops as well. I think I'll be able to get to the Twickenham one more easily, changing buses (that are frequent) on the high street without having to hike.

cece · 20/03/2006 17:30

I usually go Monday mornings so may see you there!

bunyanvillas · 21/03/2006 21:12

Hi, I'm an Isleworth gal with a 14 month old daughter. Around on Mon and Tues each week and always up for doing stuff if anyone fancies meeting up! Even if it's just a coffee! (and a cake, of course) Went to Cheeky Monkeys in St Margaret's today which is really good, has anyone tried it?

Roslyn · 24/03/2006 12:14

Hi everyone -

I might actually be able to get there on Tuesday, but don't know for sure right this second. Life is complicated right now (for anyone interested, I've been whinging and venting a bit on the "EALING, ISLEWORTH, WEST LONDON" thread) -- dh is in the hospital, his nasty flu cough that had dragged on for 2 weeks having suddenly transitioned into antibiotic-resistant bacterial pneumonia. He went to a consultant chest doctor yesterday for a follow-up exam, and they were so perturbed by his horrible-looking x-ray and his shortness of breath plus fever that they shoved him in the hospital to give him IV antibiotics and extra oxygen. As a result, he's getting better fast now, but it was pretty scary how fast a nasty infection can get on top of someone.

In the meantime, we've been dealing with a dead hot water boiler and a hard-to-get-hold-of landlord, plus postponing our previously planned trip to go back to the states for a week (hah! not right now we're not.). Then when ds & I were heading to dh's hospital this morning, the trains were @#$%! up because some loser threw him/herself in front of a train in Mortlake this morning. (we don't have a car) Which I found out after getting the tickets and arriving at the platform. But we did eventually get there to visit and bring him some shaving gear and books to read etc. He's doing much better. Getting the antibiotics in the hospital works faster than taking pills at home, and extra oxygen is helping him get his strength back faster.

So we're busy right now! But it's actually possible that dh will be back by Tues. and life might be nearly back to normal, fingers crossed. Have to wait and see, though.

Sorry about venting a bit, but I wanted to let everyone know that I do want to get out with ds and meet up with some playmates (the poor kid has been more isolated than I'd like for a while, due to our moving etc. -- and then a few weeks ago, he had the coughing virus too, but very fortunately didn't get ill like dh.

So how is everyone else's weekend going? Grin

sfxmum · 25/03/2006 20:59

just quick drop by
yankmum - gosh that is awful! nasty bugs, hope your dh has a quick and full recovery.
take care

emmavl · 26/03/2006 19:49

MrsBigD · 07/04/2006 12:42

can't do daytime weekdays :( but if you ever do a weekend meet... count me in Grin

bunyanvillas · 08/04/2006 20:01

Hi, all - I'm up for a meet on Tuesday if anyone is around. Yanks, hope all is now ok with you and yours, that all sounded soooo stressful. If you can get out on Tues, even if it's just for an hour, I'm sure it'll do you the world of good! Hope your dh is much better by now.

YanksUponThames · 12/04/2006 18:19

Hi again everyone --
Things are finally getting back towards normal. Dh feels well again and also has nearly all his former wind back (pardon the pun). Back at work and commuting to Waterloo and everything. Now I'm finally back to normal everyday chores to catch up on. And there were a lot of out-of-the-way things that came up while dh was ill, too, but they seem to finally be getting under control.

I could do something Friday, if anyone else wants to, or any time next week. Next Friday (Apr 21) I'm out of town until 1 May, but around that I'm interested in meeting up with whoever is around...
Hope everyone's holiday looks good!
If anyone else is at loose ends over Easter weekend, let me know. We're here without the usual grannies/MILs/etc., so are more open than cultural necessities usually allow...

Syann · 20/04/2006 15:28

Syann · 20/04/2006 15:56

Hi Cruncy Nut,

I went last tuesday and it was good. I left at about 11:15 and there were about 14/15 people there, but as it's quite a big hall, there was loads of room...

Im on linkfield road, so its really quick for me to get there. Will defo go next week.

crunchynut · 20/04/2006 16:12

hi syann

I'll try to go next week then. the timings completely wrong for me as it's baby's nap time but fingers crossed. hopefully see you there :)

Syann · 20/04/2006 16:15

Okay, will see you there. What's your name tho, as I might look a little daft asking for Crunhynut (mine is really is Syann)!!!

There's also the 'one-0-clock club' that i keep reading about. Apparently it's near to Redlees Park, and is on everyday. - If anyone knows about that??????

crunchynut · 20/04/2006 16:20

Good point! my name's sarah!

i dont know anything about the one o'clock club either apart from what's in this thread, so if anyone has any details - apart from it's at one o'clock hehehe...
