O.K this is my first attempt so fingers crossed I reach one person at least out there.

Anyone fancy a coffee afternoon in Solihull, or the new Bull Ring sometime in January 2004?

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Nutcracker, I moved out (to move in with DP and his parents) about 6 years ago and mum and dad moved back to scotlands 4 years ago.

nutcracker · 26/12/2003 23:31

We really like it here, apart fromthe fact that we are overcrowded. Unfortunatly we can't afford to buy so need to wait for housing to move us :0

Mocha · 03/01/2004 23:40

Everyone still on for the meet on the 16th

Jollymum · 04/01/2004 20:42

bubabubbles-just read this thread. I love in Solihull too!! It's nice (and scary) to know there's other MN's by me, but I run my own business and now I'm wondering if any of you come to my classes?! Gulp-have to stop posting the "Rabbit" stuff now! Sorry, I can't do either Friday as that's one of my busiest days, but can do Tues, Wed, Thurs afternoons, working around school times as I have four to pick up. Good Luck with the meet-up!

Jollymum · 04/01/2004 20:44

Oooh, I'm mortified. I put "LOVE" instead of "live' and now everyone will think I'm a call girl, 'cos I mentioned the "Rabbit"!!!!!!!

WSM · 04/01/2004 21:36

ROFL , Jollymum!

Am worrying a bit though as I have to be back in Worcester to collect the DSs from school at 3.30.

Georgina - Are you still on for this ? There is a train leaving from our station at 9:25am, getting in at 10:10. The return trains are either 13:59, arriving at 14:39. Or 14:06, arriving at 15:07. I think the 13:59 would have to be my return train as I couldn't risk the later one running behind sched.

As my train wouldn't arrive in until 10 past, do you think you could hang around in the meeting place for me and DD ?

Mocha · 04/01/2004 21:40

Evening WSM we should be able to wait for 10-15 minutes for those that are going to be late

Ailsa · 04/01/2004 23:01

I'm hopefully still up for it, I'll ring the boss tomorrow to book the day off. Is everyone taking the little angels?

WSM - which station are you leaving from? Foregate or Shrub Hill?

JanHR · 05/01/2004 09:27

I will be taking my 17 month old DD as DP will be working.

clairabelle · 05/01/2004 09:37

What are your classes Jollymum?

WSM · 05/01/2004 10:17

Hi Ailsa. I'll prob be going from Shrub Hill as it is more convenient. Foregate St has all those dastardly stairs and also it means going into the city centre (bleughhhhh). Shrub Hill is easy for me, I just have to get a cab down Newtown Road and I'm there !

WSM · 05/01/2004 10:18

(I'm at the new hospital end of the Villages)

WSM · 05/01/2004 10:19

My DD is also 17 months.

Ailsa · 05/01/2004 13:22

I forgot about those stairs at Foregate St. I'll probably go from Shrub Hill as well then, if I can persuade MIL to take DD1 & DS to school.

ParanoidWife · 06/01/2004 10:10

I think there's a lift at Foregate St but I'm betting that it is rancid Let me know if you are going from Shrub as we could meet up on the platform, ease me into my first 'meet-up' gently !

ParanoidWife · 06/01/2004 10:15

Sh*t, forgot to change my name back Bang goes my cover

bubabubbles · 06/01/2004 11:53

Well, it's nice to see many of you are keen to meet up, I'm really looking forward to it too.

So, those of you who are definately coming
to the Brum meeting, On 16th January
please reply with a YES and time you
will be able to 'meet' by Debenhams.

Once I know the numbers, we can make sure we wait for anyone who may be running a little late.

Also HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all.

Message to Jollymum and anyone else up for the Solihull meeting, when would you all like to meet in Touchwood? Look forward to hearing from you soon.

OP posts:
JanHR · 06/01/2004 11:59

YES. should be there between 9.40 - 9.55 depending on trains

GeorginaA · 06/01/2004 14:41

Can I be a pain and make a decision last minute?

It's just that I've been feeling very faint when I'm out recently (due to pregnancy) and I'm getting almost paranoid about being extended away from the house. If I'm feeling okay in the few days before the meet then I'll assume I'm over it and come but don't really want to risk it otherwise.

Sorry to be annoying

fio2 · 07/01/2004 18:03

sorry i cant do the 16th i know this sounds pathetic but i have hair appointment and it takes me months to get a new one, sorry

JanHR · 07/01/2004 20:15

sorry to here that fio, maybe next time.

Cinnamon · 08/01/2004 15:15

To all the ladies travelling in from Worcester to meet with bubabubbles. There is no lift up and over to platform 2 at Shrub Hill, so phone and check with the station if the train is likely to depart from platform 1. Alternatively, if you get to the station early enough and go to the chargemans office on platform 1, s/he should be able to walk you over the crossing at the extreme end of the platform. Need to consider the option of your return train home, ALL trains from Bham go into platform 2 so you will have the same problem coming home. There are lifts to both platforms 1 and 2 at Foregate, and although they do smell rank, it's only a 30 second ride up in them and as I'm pregnant myself at the moment and can't face the climb to everest every evening, I take the lift. Finally, parking after 0830hrs at Shrub near to non existent, although that new shopping area opposite the station is very accommodating - there is of course no parking at foregate. BYW if planning a meet at Worcs - I would be v interested. Have fun if you do meet up. LOL

WSM · 09/01/2004 11:21

aRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH ! Thanks for that Cinnamon. Will be going from Foregate St in that case. Will you be joining us on the 16th Cinnamon ?

Will endeavour to attend, but as I mentioned before will only be able to stay until just before 2pm.

Ailsa · 09/01/2004 22:45

WSM - are you still aiming for the 9.25 train, I should be able to make there by then as long as I get DS & DD to school when the gates open at 8.45 instead of gates closing!

WSM · 10/01/2004 10:20

Yes, still aiming for the 9.25, wouldn't make it for 10 otherwise, and as I have to leave fairly early there would be little point in me going if I got in much later. I have emailed you through 'contact another talker', hope you don't mind.
