Ok, so we have a venue, a growing list of those coming and Dances making lists.

I'm not going to give the address of the venue on this thread, but will put it in the FB Meet up Group and PM those who are not on FB. If you are and are not already in the group, please click the link and ask to be added and we shall do just that - just as soon as you have confirmed that you are coming and have made a payment of £20 to the Meet Up PayPal account.

The £20 will cover food (12-14ish decent sized canapés), anywhere between 2-4 drinks and, most importantly, cake. Depending on final numbers we have yet to decide whether to have a stock of paid for drinks - wine, beer, soft drinks perhaps, followed by a pay bar; or to do tokens of a set value that can be used for any drinks, again paying once you have used your tokens up.

The venue is just south of the river, next to Tower Bridge; BIWI, Pistey and I selflessly went and checked it out last week and it is lovely, great position and with easy transport to all London main line stations. Tube wise it has Northern Line, Jubilee Line and Circle/District lines running very close by.

With regard to food, when you have paid (please PM me or Pistey for the PayPal details as, again, I don't want to publish it for the world to see), could you please let me know any dietary requirements - allergies/vegetarian etc so that I can finalise the menu accordingly a couple of weeks before the bash.

Accommodation - we are hoping to sort out a group rate at a Travelodge, so if you are in need of a bed for the night, please do let me know and we can add you on to our list.

I will C&P the list of who is coming after this post. If you are coming and are not on it, please add yourself.

I think that's everything..... Any other questions, just let me know and I will, hopefully, be able to answer them.

Well done über momma!
Can you do something with my lazy arse DS 1 now?
Ta.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 16/08/2012 17:38

Frank that is excellent & you must be very proud! I've got about 10 years before I get to that stage but already dreading it a bit Smile

BIWI · 16/08/2012 18:30

Oh well done, Frank! Not such good news for DS2 and his AS levels BDDD Hmm

bigTillyMint · 16/08/2012 19:19

Frank thats fab news Smile

BIWI, DH said he got great Alevel results today but that the AS were pants - maybe it's a general thing and his proper As will be fantastic Smile

JugglingWithFiveRings · 16/08/2012 19:25

Hiya Frank and friends -

Congrats especially to your DD1 for her 3 A's and place at Bristol. I went there and had a great time - beautiful city and made lots of friends - married one young man I met there and it's our 15th anniversary today (making about 25 years together since those Uni days!)
DS gave us a card which says it all (encompasses the highs and lows in characteristic succinct DS style) ....

"Dear Mummy and Daddy 15 years is a long time" Grin

Have just had a quick look through the wedding album all together and added the card to the pocket on the back page Smile

Can you check if I've successfully paid Frank ? (a few days ago hopefully if went through OK ?) - and if so maybe a promotion up from the "Maybe babies" might be in order ? Smile Can't wait to meet you all Grin

FrankWippery · 16/08/2012 19:32

BIWI - quite a few of Em's chums didn't do so brilliantly last year, she also got BBCC so has done so much work, as well as a couple of resits at the beginning of the year (including getting 100% in her economics paper which we found today), so I'm sure if your DS2 really pulls his finger out , he can definitely improve those marks.

Juggling, congratulations on your wedding anniversary, how lovely that you met him there! My DC's late father went to school in Bristol (by the bridge Wink), so I know it quite well, and it is a fantastic Uni city - she's very excited.

Did you pay on paypal, and if so can you PM me the name so I can check. I forget whether you are on the FB page or not? And I will of course change you to the party list proper Grin

Right I have been granted internet access for about 3 minuters by DH so just want to say that I AM still coming and I'll be coughing up the cash, organising a room etc as soon as I'm back in Blighty on Sunday.

That is all. Grin

FrankWippery · 17/08/2012 08:28

Excellent news Shodan, was wondering where you had disappeared to Grin

I'm meeting the wonderful Pistey for a coffee Wink at lunchtime and then going up to pay the deposit on the place. All of you who haven't yet had a chance to send pennies, can I ask that we have it by Friday 8th September please so that I can finalise numbers.

Can I just remind you all that I would like to know any dietary needs/restraints etc in the next couple of weeks. Annie I remember yours, but anyone else that has veggie/allergy/religious needs, please PM me either on here or FB if you are in the group.

The venue details are on the FB group and I have PM'd those of you who have asked, but if anyone else needs a PM please give me a nudge on board/PM and I will let you know.

Gracias Grin

Congrats on the girls' results Frank. How are they celebrating?? Will you be ferrying drunkard teenagers around all weekend??

FrankWippery · 17/08/2012 08:38

They went out partying hard last night with all their chums. DD1 will be partying some more at a friend's 18th and DD2 is off up to Stafford to V Fest so, yes, they will be drunken but I won't be ferrying them about Grin

Congrats to Franks DD's!

BIWI hope you are having a fab holiday.

I am soooooo going to have to diet when we get home from here.

triplets · 17/08/2012 23:19

Would Premier Inn London Tower Bridge be ok to stay?

BIWI · 17/08/2012 23:41

Having a lovely time but could do with less rain. I know it's the rainy season but even still ...

BellaVita · 18/08/2012 00:34

We have had a couple of showers BIWI

DancesWithWoolsEnPointe · 18/08/2012 08:47

Triplets Plenty of us are staying in the Southwark Travel Dodgy - its about a mile away, giving us a sobering stumble stroll home or short taxi ride, but the rooms were significantly cheaper than Tower Bridge Premier Inn.

marriedinwhite · 18/08/2012 10:37

hello - we're back and we brought the good weather with us. Not one mozzie bite in France but was eaten alive in SW London last night [itching emoticon]

MABS · 18/08/2012 13:51
