Ok, so we have a venue, a growing list of those coming and Dances making lists.

I'm not going to give the address of the venue on this thread, but will put it in the FB Meet up Group and PM those who are not on FB. If you are and are not already in the group, please click the link and ask to be added and we shall do just that - just as soon as you have confirmed that you are coming and have made a payment of £20 to the Meet Up PayPal account.

The £20 will cover food (12-14ish decent sized canapés), anywhere between 2-4 drinks and, most importantly, cake. Depending on final numbers we have yet to decide whether to have a stock of paid for drinks - wine, beer, soft drinks perhaps, followed by a pay bar; or to do tokens of a set value that can be used for any drinks, again paying once you have used your tokens up.

The venue is just south of the river, next to Tower Bridge; BIWI, Pistey and I selflessly went and checked it out last week and it is lovely, great position and with easy transport to all London main line stations. Tube wise it has Northern Line, Jubilee Line and Circle/District lines running very close by.

With regard to food, when you have paid (please PM me or Pistey for the PayPal details as, again, I don't want to publish it for the world to see), could you please let me know any dietary requirements - allergies/vegetarian etc so that I can finalise the menu accordingly a couple of weeks before the bash.

Accommodation - we are hoping to sort out a group rate at a Travelodge, so if you are in need of a bed for the night, please do let me know and we can add you on to our list.

I will C&P the list of who is coming after this post. If you are coming and are not on it, please add yourself.

I think that's everything..... Any other questions, just let me know and I will, hopefully, be able to answer them.

ifiwasarichwoman · 31/08/2012 21:00

catinboots · 31/08/2012 21:06

okies

I'll share the hair-stroking but not the scotch

ifiwasarichwoman · 31/08/2012 21:14

I'd have to "round up" bump in middle - I did actual try a stiff JD earlier - but sadly baby def does not like whiskey as I promptly discovered.

But I'm sure there are lots of hands to hair stroke.

catinboots · 31/08/2012 21:16

stoopid baby. what does s/he know eh?

marriedinwhite · 31/08/2012 21:49

If you are doing warm blankets and cocoa Frank I'm putting you on the rota for Faith in Action Grin.

Someone tell me about blankets please. I can knit and I quite like knitting.

ifiwasarichwoman · 31/08/2012 22:10

The blankets are a Mumsnet woolly hug, various people crochet squares, others sew together, others donate wool / money.

Some people organise to bring squares, money, crochetters together.

The end result is a beautiful hug of love - a few bereaved parents have received them - someone else knows more.

KnottyLocks · 31/08/2012 22:44

Married,am on the phone but have a look at www. Woollyhugs. Com or MNWoollyHugs on Facebook Smile

KnottyLocks · 31/08/2012 22:46

We have a wonderful team of knitters, hookers and donors: the Blanketeers. All if em complete stars. Smile

Hey Dances. You, sir, are a wimp!!

DancesWithWoolsEnPointe · 01/09/2012 07:56

I'm non-confrontational AnnieL despite all appearances to the latter when MN goes prickly I hide...

marriedinwhite · 01/09/2012 09:05

I could do with a hand right now Frank. There are at least 12 Doc Martens or other trendy things in my hall. Means there must be large, hungry creatures slumbering in this house! There was cake all over the kitchen.

I'm off to work right now (joy!). Need more than faith in action this morning me thinks. Will whisper gently to DH on way out and bet he slinks off to chambers.

Only joking of course and at least all the extra shoes look really big so there can't be ant girls here. Grin

ifiwasarichinblack · 01/09/2012 09:09

morning all - have the migraine from hell, and sadly its not booze related.

DancesWithWoolsEnPointe · 01/09/2012 09:31

Ha ha - thats cool Married. I'm not wishing my kids' lives away, but at the same time I do look forward to bigger people and stories like yours (although if I found any DMs bigger than a size 8 i'd be panicing as I only have DDs)

ifiwasarichinblack · 01/09/2012 10:43

Dances, I love it when my oldest has a "gathering" as they call it, loads of teenagers, have a few beers (dont allow spirits), and laying in bed, listening to them enjoying themselves and singing into the night.

Its wonderful.

I dont know myself why parents dont embrace the loud music and teenage years, they pass so quickly.

marriedinwhite · 01/09/2012 11:42

I don't know what time this lot arrived vaguely remember DS saying so and so are staying OK but didn't hear them at all. Wonder what's going on.

marriedinwhite · 01/09/2012 11:45

DD's going to wake up surrounded by half the first fifteen. She's 14 - thankfully she will hide!! Am invigilating and didn't expect to - glad of Mnet!!

DancesWithWoolsEnPointe · 01/09/2012 15:55

Ha - ever 14 y.o girl's dream! I'm still 17 at heart, so I will certainly be embracing the teenage years, although we 3 teenage girls in the house at once it is going to be interesting. DD1 is only 8 though, so some time to go yet.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 02/09/2012 19:44

Yah, bloody missed you all again. Still, I have an excuse, we were driving down through France. Lovely to be here, very, very windy, but warm enough.
IfIwasarich glad to hear someone's up for late, late boogie stuff.
Why are they all talking about pinnies? I've never owned a pinny in my life. I'd rather get stuff splattered on my front.
Were you ever pink and rosy?

BellaVita · 05/09/2012 16:07

Wine not long now!
