Any new mums around Finchley area??

Hi there, I'm quite new to MN,and would love to know if there is anyone else around Finchley who has recently given birth and would like to meet up.

I am 35 and had a beautiful girl on the 24th Feb, 7lb 5oz, named Isabel Erika. My dp and I moved to Finchley when we found out we were expecting (she's our first), so I don't really know anyone local, and would very much like to meet any other new Mums in the area.

Hiya Amiable

There are a few first time mums in the Enfield area that are meeting up if you would like to come along? I know what it's like to live away from friends and family - it gets lonely especially when you have a baby!

Thanks Pebbles, that sounds great. Slight problem over the next couple of weeks is that I don't yet have a car, so getting to Enfield is a bit tricky - this will all change when I get my car in about two/three weeks - can't wait :)! Would love to come over and meet with you once I'm mobile - please let me know when you will be meeting, where, etc. Thanks, and look forward to seeing you soon!

Hi, just discovered this site today.

I live in West Finchley and my daughter Helena was born on Christmas Eve. We moved house 2 weeks before Helena was born (something I wouldn't recommend) and like you am keen to meet other new mums in the area.

Would love to meet you and Isabel.

Hiya

I'm still available to meet up - I live near Enfield and I also have a baby girl called Elyssia who is 6.5 months and growing up fast!

Let me know when you are free.....x

Amiable · 10/04/2006 23:52

sorry for the silence, been offline for a while. Anyway, very keen to get out and about - I picked up my car at the weekend and am raring to go!! I'm available most weekdays, when dp is at work. Pebbles, I don't really know the child-friendly places in the area so perhaps you could suggest something?
Nicose - very impressed by the move 2 weeks before you gave birth - we moved when I was only 10 weeks pregnant and that was bad enough! :)

By the way, also happy to meet for a baby-free evening. Luckily, I have a very involved dp... in fact, I'm sure given the option he would prefer to take over and do all the parenting! :o

Nicose, Pebbles, there is another thread for North London mums ("New Mums in North London") where a few MNers are looking to meet at the end of April. It would be great if we could all get together - the more the merrier!

Hi, I'll check out the other thread for North London Mums. A big meet at the end of April sounds good.

In the meantime if you fancy meeting somewhere locally for a coffee - the Finchley Arts Depot is a good venue - there are soft play mats, sofas plus plenty of room to manoeuvre buggies! Pebbles would this be convenient for you?

Amiable · 15/04/2006 23:20

Nicose, I'd be up for a meeting in Finchley. Where is the Finchley Arts Depot? I could meet Wednesday 20th or Thursday 21st, or the following week.

It's been manic over Easter but Thursday 20th is good for me either am or pm. What time would suit you? There are many Finchleys but the Arts Depot is in North Finchley. If I try and give you directions you'd probably never get there but they do have a website www.artsdepot.co.uk which has full instructions. If you're driving I've found the best place to park is Waitrose on Ballards Lane which is near and free.

All these threads could get confusing but I'll go onto the "North London Mums" to see if anyone there is interested in coming.

Amiable · 17/04/2006 23:48

Thursday sounds good. How about 2pm? I am flexible, but afternoons are generally better for me - I seem to find it really hard to get myself in gear in the mornings! I'm just near Finchley Central tube, and I know exactly where the Waitrose is, so I should be able to find the arts depot OK.

Great Smile Thursday it is. I agree it is a struggle to get out of the house in the mornings so the afternoon suits me as well. Can we make it 2:30pm though? I'm banking on us being the only people with babies so we should find each other easily enough. By the way the cafe is on the 2nd floor so take the lift up there.

Amiable · 18/04/2006 17:30

2.30 works for me. Looking forward to seeing you then. :)
