Anyone in the area American? Or anyone in Bath? Looking to meet peeps with same interests and such. Moved here 7 months ago and have a 9 month old daughter - cute as he##! Love baby, hubby, dogs, outdoors.

Yeah, I suppose we could try Revolution and RSVP, but are they nonsmoking? Also, as a mom who's trying to watch my pocketbook, I like the idea of M&S b/c it's cheap and I don't have to tip! They also have a large lift, and 2 nappy changing places. Anyway, I'm willing to give anyplace a try at least once! BTW, have you been in the new cafe in Oldfield park? Zest, I think it's called?
As for meetups, what days work for whoever wants to meet?

Hi I'm just thinking that Revolution and RSVP is more young persons places rather than mums coffee morning, I know they let little ones in (or they did)but in the day it's often full of lads starting there drinking early..Blush I sound so old and unhip(I'm only 28)but just thought I'd mention it.

M&S is fine with me, or any other cafe that someone has been to and thought was nice.

Hiya

Sorry completely forgot to look at this thread after putting my posting on there ages ago!

Still keen to meet up with anyone who lives in Bath. If you have a baby or toddler under 3 then how about meeting up at Manver's street - they run a free group there on Tuesday mornings 10-11.30 ish, it's central and maybe a good place to start?

twinmummy04 · 16/04/2006 19:49

Thats sounds good, I didn't know that. My two aren't the best a being still for very long (well they are 18mths :) ) be a great place to meet.
Is it back on this tuesday, I think most things start back next week don't they?

TM04

MichMoo16 · 17/04/2006 15:06

Yes it starts back tomorrow (18th) it's downstairs at Manvers street church although there's no mention of God! I'll be going, so if you fancy coming along please do - the more the merrier I reckon. I'm Michelle by the way and i've got a little boy Ashton who's nearly six months - we usually nab the far corner on the right as you walk in. Hopefully see you tomorrow.

twinmummy04 · 17/04/2006 19:17

Hi Michelle, sorry can't make tomorrow now Blush, I was hoping to but my friend is coming over with her 3, (twins and a 4 wks old :) and it's quite hard for her to get out and about at the moment so I don't think I could get her to come along.
Will definitely try and make next week though.

I'm in Bath nearly every morning anyway now as I take hubby to work (only one car) so could always meet up for an hr or so if your ever free..??

MichMoo16 · 18/04/2006 09:16

Hi TW04

No problem about today - I'm there every week so come when you can. My email address is [email protected] it's a work address so you'll get an automatic bounce back to say i'm on mat leave but i access emails from home. Would be good to meet up, any day is good for me!

Michelle

twinmummy04 · 19/04/2006 09:19

Hi Michelle, I will give you an email then, and we can arrange something.
Were free this Monday am but that's probably too short notice?

TM04

MichMoo16 · 20/04/2006 12:24

Hi TM

Monday would be fine, what time & where. I know there's a toddler group that runs on Monday morning by Charlotte Street Car Park, i've never been but it's supposed to be good - just thinking about keeping your twins amused, do you want me to find out the times etc?

Michelle

There are a couple of website forums for American Expats in the UK, and I'm pretty sure there are folks in Bath.

These websites do tend to attract whinging yanks that complain no end about the UK, but if all you are is looking for a few contacts, they might be ideal.

twinmummy04 · 20/04/2006 12:46

Hi Michelle, sorry was going to email you yesterday but the day disappeared :)

Morning would be best as I'm taking hubby in to work, that toddlers sounds great, I know where the park car is so could I meet you there first or is that out of your way..? I'm not great on places in Bath even though we have lived 10 mins away for the pass 6 yrs Blush

If you find out the times that would be great, my two are wonderful but very normal toddler boys so safe inclosed spaces are always the best options Grin now they are walking they just want to be off!

MichMoo16 · 23/04/2006 21:27

twinmummy04 · 23/04/2006 21:50

Thats o.k maybe next time :)

MichMoo16 · 28/04/2006 23:11

Hi TM

We're arranging a meet up on 23rd May at Victoria Park, so hope you can make that. Otherwise maybe we'll be able to catch up before that :)

Michelle

twinmummy04 · 30/04/2006 12:37

Hi Michelle, yes were hoping to go to that meet, but more than happy to meet up before then if your free? Mondays and Tuesdays are the bests, or could make that toddler group...when and where was that again..?? (brain like a fish at the moment have my mum staying:) )

TM

MichMoo16 · 02/05/2006 15:11

Hi TM

Are you free this coming Monday - the Forum in Bath have a toddler group that starts at 10, do you fancy meeting up & giving the group a go?

Michelle

twinmummy04 · 02/05/2006 22:41

Hi, yea sure, where is the Forum in Bath Blush DH knows Bath much better than me so a rough idea would be fine.

What time does it start?

TM

twinmummy04 · 02/05/2006 22:43

Sorry Blush I've just noticed you have put the time already, scrap that last bit in my previous post...it's been a long day Wink

TM :)

MichMoo16 · 03/05/2006 18:54

I'm not too good with directions in Bath either and i've lived here all my life!!! Anyhow it's at the back of MacDonalds (better check that with your DH just incase) (smile)

M

twinmummy04 · 06/05/2006 09:05

Hi Michelle, checked with dh and he 'says' he hasn't got a clue , not sure if thats true or I asked him at the wrong time, he's not great with directions so probaly doesn't know.

Anyway I know where the back entrance to Mc donalds is so can we meet there about 10am and go in togther..?? :)

TM

twinmummy04 · 06/05/2006 15:11

Hi Michelle been to Bath today and I do know where it is (Blush I'm such a no brain sometimes)
Did have one worry though, once your inside the main enterance there are lots of steps I won't get up their with the double pushchair, does the toddler group use a different entrance do you know??

TM

MichMoo16 · 07/05/2006 15:12

Hi TM

Sorry dont know on the steps front, but I would imagine they'd have to have a pushchair friendly entrance somewhere, how about we meet at back of MacDonalds then at 10 and we'll try to figure it out together!

Michelle
