Northern 2005 Junies attempt to meet up again

Okay all, let's see if we can manage this! Venue will be central Leeds, La Tasca is quite good as there's room for buggies (not sure they will thank me for turning up with even more noisy children than I did last time, when ds attempted to eat the menu but it's worth a thought). I do like the Slug and Lettuce but the no-smoking area is tiny. Roll on new anti-smoking laws!

Right, days. MrsW and I can do something this weekend. In the week, MrsW can do Thursday and Friday (I can do any day due to random work schedule, although have my appraisal on Tuesday!). Katz can do Monday and Friday. Lua is a leisure lady next week I think?

At first glance, that suggests Friday as the way forward. I'll need to be in Headingley at 2 for Sing and Sign but that shouldn't cause too much of a problem if we meet at say, 12. I was tentatively having lunch with a friend that day but it's no problem to postpone it if we do settle on Friday (will invite her along anyway but she can barely cope with ds so I think an onslaught of Junie babies will be too much for her to handle).

Let me have your thoughts!

this friday will be fine if i can get someone to pick dd1 up from nursery and look after her

JonahB · 27/01/2006 08:29

i'm sorry ladies, i'd love to join you but i cant, being one of those guilt-ridden full time working mums . Have a lovely lovely time and i want to hear about some serious menu/napkin chewing, dribbling and generally creating havoc behaviour from all your DS/DD's.

tribpot · 27/01/2006 08:33

Jonah, a weekend any good to you? (I'm assuming you don't have to work those too ) I'm happy to do two meet-ups, just having human interaction is a major step forward at the moment! (I said that to a work colleague yesterday, hope I didn't upset him as we talk on the phone about five times a day but it's not the same).

what about a weekend then, an ill bring hubby he can drive, really dont feel like travelling alone at the moment.

katzg · 27/01/2006 15:16

how many northern mummies would like a baby free afternoon? i'm happy to organise a spa afternoon and offer my house as somewhere for the DH's t go with the babies?

this would be in addition to any other meet

tribpot · 27/01/2006 17:24

Sounds nice Katz but I have to spend my baby free time working, which is fun! Hope some of you other northern ladies can manage a spa day, though, you deserve it!

EYM, Jonah, a weekend meeting sounds good. Can completely understand why you don't want to travel on your own, EYM.

Any takers for a week-day meet as well?

Hello ladies, I am up for a meeting this next friday for lunch, if this is still on.

Katz - Spa sounds absolutely fabulous! I would be up to! BTW, have you finally tried the massage there? or is there anything you recommend in particular?

katzg · 27/01/2006 21:31

lua-i had a bump massage which was lovely, i just love using the spa, its so peaceful and quiet plus £20 for 3hours its worth every penny

tribpot · 28/01/2006 12:59

lua, if it's just you and me (and poss MrsW), should we make it Thursday? Then I don't have to rearrange with my friend. Katz, if you're still planning to come along we can keep it as Friday?

OP posts:
katzg · 29/01/2006 09:23

i'd like to come but don't plan it around me, i'd still have to find someone to have DD1 or i'd have to rbing her which would be very dull for her!

JonahB · 29/01/2006 18:18

Trib, I?ll happily do a weekend meet up, but I definitely don?t want everyone to change their plans to a weekend meet up ?cos of me, so if people are prepared to do 2 meet ups, that would be fantastic.

If you suggest some weekends, I?ll check my diary??..

purpleturtle · 29/01/2006 18:27

Oi katzg - am I not to be trusted with dd1, or what? You only have to ask, you daft woman, after all you've done for me and mine!

tribpot · 29/01/2006 19:03

I'm a bit offended that Katz's dd1 would find us dull, purpleturtle We are of course a fascinating bunch.

Seriously though, will check with MrsW if she is going to bring the Leeds Livewire (aka WednesdayBoy1), in which case Katzgirl1 will have a playmate if you do want to bring her and we'll need a venue suitable.

In any case, we'll stick to Friday and I'll catch up with my friend next time she is in Leeds. Jonah, quite happy to arrange a weekend meet as it suits EYM too, so hurrah for that.

Will have a look at the diary - not that I can actually go anywhere just now, but to be on the safe side! And suggest a weekend or two.

thanks purpleturtle - count me in for friday then please

lua · 29/01/2006 20:10

Right. Friday it is then!
So we are still talking Leeds at 12 AM, right?
Where shall we meet?

tribpot · 29/01/2006 20:26

Lua, shall we meet in the station where you, Katz and I met last time? I will be coming by train, will check with MrsW if she is too.

OP posts:
katzg · 29/01/2006 22:26
