Yes please. I intended to start a GI diet on January 2nd, but have been completely crap. Today I'm going to buy the Sunday Times to get their supplement (they're doing a 4 week thing, I think)

me.... but I'm so crap at shape up commitment.

Have decided that rather than re-join the gym I'll get a personal trainer to help with my motivation. Oh dear Lord... what am I thinking? I'll have to stick to the diet now.............

Yes please! I desperately need to lose some weight and get fit as I've hardly done any exercise since have dd 2.7 years ago. She's just started pre-school and I've just started proper swimming again when she's there. I need to get on a healthier diet too but am still munching my way through the remainder of the Christmas goodies.

I started a low fat/healthy eating diet on monday 13th.I've given up alcohol, caffeen and trying to eat more whole grain things.
I'm also back in the gym after back sliding for a few weeks before Christmas.
I've already lost 4lb and have much more energy.

Hello! Right, here's what I'm doing. 30 mins running (after kids in bed) at least 3 times a week. Yoga class once a week (which I already do). Alcohol only on Tuesdays and Fridays. And I am going to try and become vegan from being veggie. Something I've been wanting to do for ages.

Ok I would like to. My tactics are - eating lots of vegetables, low fat protein and complex carbohydrates. Avoiding cheese and snack foods. Eating just a bit less than I want to.

Sticking to a limit of 2 glasses of wine in an evening but not more than 2 times a week (except for special occasions, ie bf's wedding next month).

I am going to do 100 sit ups every day and go for a 1.5 mile walk at least 3 times a week.

I am not going to weigh myself as I find looking at the scales very dispirting. I prefer to monitor progress by the fit of my clothes

I have been doing this with quite a few lapses for the past couple of months but have lost a few pounds and feel quite good so I think it is workable for me.

Give up alcohol . We're not going to have to do that are we dinny? I don't think I'll be on this thread long if that's the case!

dinny · 15/01/2006 11:56

hey,
i'm trying to lose weight by end of april for wedding anniversary (so i don't look like as much of a pudding as on my wedding day! ) have three stone to get to my ideal weight - like climbing everest!

if your really serious bout losing two stone by the summer go out and by the 'food doctor 7 day diet' and 'food doctor everyday diet', they follow on. i have been doing it since xmas and have lost 9 pounds, it really is brilliant!!! first week is tough (all stimulants cut out) but its worth it cos you can lose round half stone in first week. you never feel hungry cos you eat five times a day, and after the first week you just feel fantastic!!! try it!!! anyone want to take the challenge?
if you want to get an idea for it, if you have sky, watch the 'a-list diet' programme, channel 154 discovery health, think its around 1.30 then repeated in evening round 9ish (well it was last week)

dinny - it does have vegan options, you may have to juggle it round alittle, but i'm veggie and it's so easy.

hope this helps someone
