oh and DD2 still no making an appearance anytime soon!

chapsmum · 24/01/2006 18:25

Baby cinema is in the grosenor cinema, ashton lane in the west end of glasgow.
For those of you that have never been there, its a cinema with big armchirs and couches.
on a thurs morning they do watch with baby, where they show the latest release for mums with bubs under one. (Their is a tots one at the weekend but layout is slightly different)
So you go along pay your£5 get a free coffe or hot chocolate, park your pram in one screen and take your baby into the other. My ds 6month usually snores through it, its fantastic to get to see all the films, this week is brokeback mountain!

mawbroon · 24/01/2006 19:18

Hi Jambuttie. I'm in Blackburn for my sins!!

I believe that there is also a mother and baby screening at the Cameo in Edinburgh on Thursday mornings. I think they call it "The Big Scream" I haven't been, but quite fancy the idea. DS would happily feed all the way through a film and be quiet as a mouse.

I had never heard of baby cinema till this thread but deffo worth looking into- twins would be noisy but ds1 would love it

Lawrence Donegan had an article on Satruday about he Baby Cinema at the Grosvenor (back page of the Weekend section).

Apparently Brokeback Mountain or some other "unsuitable" film had been pulled because it was inappropraite for children, following some sort of Daily Mail type scandal story. The "expert" that the newspaper apporached for quotation/justification of how much young children would absorb didn't realise that they were talking about babies attending

prettybird · 25/01/2006 11:10

Sorry - meant to say an article in the Herald (back page of the Weekend section)

jambuttie · 25/01/2006 12:28

so anyway when are we meeting????

OP posts:
prettybird · 25/01/2006 12:39

... not actually go that far yet Jambuttie!

How about Saturda25 March for lunch.

Not particularly bothered about the venue - but if people don't mind it being in Glasgow again, then Princes Square seemed to work as a place that allowed the kids to ru around while at the same time allowing us to have a decent meal/drink/chat .

My suggestion of a date is purely selfish: I'm away skiing in Febraury, so that would be the first Satruday I have free. And Sundays are now out, as ds has rugby from 1pm (plus on the 26th, I'll be going to the aiprot to pick up dh, who will have been in Bordeaux on a course for a week).

Anyway - it's now over to the rest of you to suggest alternatives!

prettybird · 25/01/2006 12:40

Oops - meantr Satruday 25 February

jambuttie · 25/01/2006 13:08

sounds good to me-gives everyone a chance to save some pennies too
