I'm a new mum in NW6 London (with 3 m.o. baby). Have been sampling all of the fantastic baby facilities in the area and have met some lovely mums but I'm sure there are more out there ..... . Always good to have a local network ....

Would love to hear from you!

Hi! I'm in NW10 with a 14mo ds. How are you getting on?!

HeyBaby · 10/01/2006 17:51

Beansprout - what a great name!

Is all good. Took DS to baby massage today which he LOVED. Must be genetic ... Movies tomorrow at Screen on the Hill.

Sorry - UK geography is not great. Where is NW10? Can never figure out this postcode system!

NW10 is ridiculously big but I am near Willesden Junction

Baby cinema is FAB. I think it actually kept me sane in the early months. I keep thinking that I will go again on a day off (now back at work, part-time) and then I remember that ds is too old. Amazing what a bit of denial can do though - he is still my baby as far as I'm concerned!

Everyman has toddler session though - you could probably go to that?! In Hampstead near tube.

Wow - do they?! That must be insane!! Ds has just started to walk and is now contractually obliged to not stay in one place for more than five seconds. He'd probably toddle off and I'd find him in Starbucks or something. Unfortunately I normally work on Thursdays but will bear it mind next time I am off.

Beansprout - went to baby cinema today and saw Matchpoint. Was great fun but pity about the movie ..... should never have trusted Woody Allen flick ....

Baby cinema sounds great! Could you tell me where it is?

HeyBaby · 11/01/2006 17:35

Mythumbelinas - There are two that I know about. One is Screen on the Hill at belsize Park (near the tube station) 203 Haverstock Hill if memory serves. Weds 1215 is baby session - cost £6 per visit and you have to pay £3 membership for a year. Other cinema is Everyman at Hampstead (again near tube station) - they do a baby session (

HeyBaby · 11/01/2006 17:52

Mythumbelinas - not a problem. Good luck!

cinema oh my gosh, how i miss thee! why did no one tell me about this when ds was little! he's now 20mths and there is completely and utterly no chance of taking him to a cinema now even if it was a toddler session, think he is in early training for the SAS and would definately be hurling himself over the top of cinema seats and crawling commando underneath. It's a funny fantasy but i feel it would be a trial of a reality!

Just thought I would revive this thread to see if any nice NW Londoner mums have hooked up to MN since my initial message???

HELLO Hello hello .... ECHO Echo echo ....

BTW reverting to the baby cinema theme that this thread seemed to have ended on, I rushed to Screen on the Hill today hoping to see "Munich" and it was CLOSED. Completely disappointed, I rang them later in the day and was told that they have no baby cinema sessions planned for the near future and the sessions are actually under review and might not be continuing! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Just a warning if you're thinking of going any time soon ....

Hi HeyBaby, there's a baby cinema on at the Electric on Portabello Road on Mondays. I haven't been yet, but am planning to go.

ingham · 06/04/2006 10:59

Hi. I'm in NW6 and just had a baby 4 weeks ago-- am ready to get out and meet some other people, as beginning to feel like a shut-in!

alexie · 22/10/2006 16:54

Hi I'm just emerging from that newborn baby madness and am desperately looking for a baby massage class to go to with my little girl on Monday or Friday mornings when my little boy is at nursery. Can anyone reccommend a good class in the Kensal Rise/Queens Park area?
