I'm starting to get seriously nervous!

Putting off getting ready, as it will seem a little bit too real once I've got my party gear on!

Eeeeekkkkk!!!!!!

you'll be fine, we will all be fine - in fact we will all be saying how much we love each other by 11pm

Carmenere · 26/11/2005 14:25

Yes we will all be fine. BUT it is still v scary! However I am trying to concentrate on how bloody interesting it is going to be to meet circa 80 women who exist on my computer

soapbox · 26/11/2005 14:27

Dh has just said 'I wonder if it will change things on MN having met all these people'!

Then he said 'I suppose they all seem like nutters anyway so it probably won't make much difference'!

I think he's trying to make me feel better...not

I'm terrified. The worst thing is I have no memory for mn names. So I can't remember who I've chatted to anyway.

soapbox · 26/11/2005 14:29

KS - just sent you an email!

KS - aren't you in Surrey? are you coming on the train? my passing through Surbiton thread is making me feel very lonely.

soapbox · 26/11/2005 14:31

I'm shallow though!

I think I'm going to be the fattest/most unfashionable/most guache/uninteresting person there!!!!

Now this is really not me

I'm usually a take me or leave me kind of person - so I know the nerves are getting to me!

A few drinks should put that right

hunkermunker · 26/11/2005 14:45

I'm not that scared. But I will be. It all seems too surreal atm - can't really believe I'm going yet

Stockinghanger · 26/11/2005 14:47

Well, I wasn't bricking it but I am now as I can't get hold of Blueteddy to tell her when I'm picking her up. So I might have to come alone!!

Do you think BT has chickened out?

aloha · 26/11/2005 14:48

I forgot and bought a fab shoulder of lamb for tonight. It was in the oven before I remembered!
I am a goldfish.

CountessDracula · 26/11/2005 14:59

Don't worry it will really be fine

I will search you out and bite you

BTW I am really NOT capable of remembering people's real names as well as MN ones so will just call people by MN ones (except those I know obv)

HRHWickedwaterwitch · 26/11/2005 15:01

You know what would be scaring me? I actually do care what mumsnetters think of me! It wouldn't put me off coming necessarily (she says from the safety of not coming) but for me that would make it scarier than your average blind date/meeting type situation!

CountessDracula · 26/11/2005 15:03

ooh WWW your name is still on the hotel thread as coming

fairyfly · 26/11/2005 15:22

Missed the train, sorry beety, my battery has gone on my phone too so i can't ring anyone. Would have loved to see sphable c.d lgj and of course anorak, wanted to thanks soapbox in person, pretty pissed off. maybe it's a good thig as i am a huge piss head and would have been a liability xxxx

jstbcs · 26/11/2005 15:23

Cam · 26/11/2005 15:47

Now, girls, settle down and listen to your Aunty Cam.

Custy is the hostess with the mostest.

You will all have a brilliant time and within minutes of being there will wonder what you were worried about.

Soapbox, stop being such a wimp

Honestly chill out. It will be fine. It will undoubtedly not be as bad as when I went on the first mumsnet meet-up

Just as I arrived outside the venue, a pigeon shat on my head/back. I spent 10 mins in the toilets cleaning myself up, washing a section of my hair and using the blow dryer to sort it out.

They says it's lucky and I certainly enjoyed the lunch

Have fun everyone.

motherinferior · 26/11/2005 16:04

I am kind of relying on the fact I shall actually know quite a few people so will suddenly find myself far, far more popular than I have ever been before at a party.
