Meet-ups

When meeting up take sensible precautions. Meet in a public place and let others know where you are going.

Let's try another WORCESTER/SHIRE evening meet-up, shall we ?

Given that we've discovered a few more MNers live locally and the last attempt at a meet-up fizzled out because I wasn't in a position to organise it and no one took the mantle....

So. Let's start with a few Worcestershire MNer stats, just so I know where everyone is. I'll start with those I know the locations of...

NomDePlume - Worcester
GeorginaA - Worcester
Ailsa - Worcester
Socci - Worcester
Gumdrop - Evesham way
Rats - Worcester (doesn't often post though so we might not see her)
Hornbag - Malvern

Add yourselves to the list and we'll find a suitable location for a drink/food and a natter.

Sorry I'm abit confused (as normal) do we have a date yet? and any ideas where we are meeting? I'm not particularly into clubs, would rather do a nice meal and a gossip.

Gumdrop · 17/11/2005 12:07

Here, here - food and goss are my preference too. My days of squeezing myself into somthing wholly unsuitable and freezing my kishkas off waiting for taxis are long, long, gone.

If we went for Friday 9th, we might need to sort a venue asap. Any suggestions? I liked both the Swan and the Nightingale, but might be v busy.

onemoreday · 18/11/2005 08:52

Morning. The 9th would be fine with me as long as husband will babysit! As for venues I agree the Swan is good and easy to get to for those coming from Evesham, the Bird in Hand at Stoulton used to be good although I haven't been for a while. Or what about chimichanga's in town in case anyone does want to go on to a club?

NomDePlume · 18/11/2005 08:57

I'm not fussed about a club. Last time an MN meet up ventured into town we were good for nothing the next day

I lurve the food at the Swan, always really good and shouldn't be a prob if we book the table early enough in advance. It is more expensive though, around £30 a head for 2 courses and a half share of a bottle of vino, as opposed to £20 at the Nightingale. The food is far superior though. The Nightingale might be a bit more awkward because you can't pre-book, so we could get there and find there's nowhere for us to sit !

Is the Bird in Hand the 'sister' of the Swan @ Whittington ? I think it is.

The 9th looks ok to me

Yep the bird in hand was owned by the same people who own the Swan, but I think this might have changed.

Shall we try and get some sort of agreement then by Fri 25th? i.e

is everyone ok with 9th?

and is everyone in agreement about the Swan?

then we can book a table. Sorry I'm abit of an organiser!

No you are right, onemoreday. I'll start a thread with the date on it so that people know when they need to have their answer in.
