I'd like to come please! I signed up to the Christmas one but couldn't come as was 37 weeks pg and feeling like crap. Now DS is 8 weeks and I'm in desperate need of a night out!

methodsandmaterials · 12/03/2011 15:05

Come! You'd be very welcome.

bigkidsmademe · 12/03/2011 16:15

I've paid! It can be an incentive for losing all my weight and getting a nice new frock Smile

methodsandmaterials · 12/03/2011 18:33

Cool! I've PMed you the link to the FB group.

aStarWithHerOwnWays · 12/03/2011 22:37

I am quite interested in this, now that I've moved back to the vicinity of London :) Am up the duff though so you'll all have to drink my share [gauntlet]

Valpollicella · 12/03/2011 22:45

aStar, I can assure you that won't be a problem. At all

Grin

Be great to have you come along for the evening

aStarWithHerOwnWays · 12/03/2011 22:57

Cheers Grin I've been offline for a month due to Virgin's total crapitude, and now I don't know who anyone is. So I might as well come along and learn some real names.

You can run but you can't hide hully.

BecauseImWorthIt · 13/03/2011 14:24

Pay up, Hully!

LadyOfTheManor · 13/03/2011 17:41

I want to come but I don't know anyone, really :(

Is anyone else going on their lonesome?

I'd be travelling from Wales.

methodsandmaterials · 13/03/2011 17:48

ladyotm - there will be loads of people who won't know anyone. I went to the Christmas meet-up without knowing a soul and had a great time. It would be fab to see you there.

LadyOfTheManor · 13/03/2011 17:50

What do you do, hold out your hand and say;

"Hi I'm LOTM, you may remember me from such posts as, speeding, cloth nappies....etc"

Isn't it a bit erm awkward?

notinmypocket · 13/03/2011 18:10

I don't know anyone else either. I MN know methods a bit as we frequent the same thread regularly and tall crap but otherwise nada.
I'm just going to wear my name badge with pride and try to appear confident wing it.
What's the worst that can happen Wink

notinmypocket · 13/03/2011 18:11

talk crap that is, not sure how tall crap works

JaxTellersOldLady · 13/03/2011 18:37

It is my birthday on the 20th and I might like to come along, I dont know anybody either and if DH doesnt organise something soon I might just bugger off to London overnight and get pissed meet you lot!

methodsandmaterials · 13/03/2011 18:45

It's surprisingly un-awkward considering the circumstances. Honestly, everyone is friendly and you will find people you click with. Take the plunge! It'll be fun!

LadyOfTheManor · 13/03/2011 18:47

OK well if someone else new is going I might go.

I'd be happy to pick anyone up if they're on my way. At least I'll know someone by the time I get there.

Feel free to help me out with the locations of hotels etc...!

bigkidsmademe · 13/03/2011 19:47

I know noone! Eeeek!

bigTillyMint · 13/03/2011 19:51

LOM I have never been to one before either Smile

methodsandmaterials · 13/03/2011 19:56

ACCOMMODATION

Chain-wise, there is a load of hotels to choose from.
The Travelodge Farringdon and the Holiday Inn King's Cross are across the road from each other and are about 10-15 minutes walking distance from the venue. The 63 bus will take you about 5 minutes away from the venue. Both are about 10 minutes walk away.

If you'd prefer to be closer to King's Cross / St. Pancras, you have the Travelodge Kings Cross or the Premier Inn King's Cross which are both about 5 mins walk from King's Cross / St Pancras and are also on the 63 bus route; 10 minutes on the bus and then a 5 minute walk.

In between, there is the Travelodge Royal Scott. This one is about 8 minutes walk from the station but in the direction of the venue. It is also on the 63 bus route.

If you're interested in a roomshare to cut costs, let us know, or post on the FB page. Loads of people did this last year (and they didn't necessarily know each other).

Valpollicella · 13/03/2011 23:14

Excellent post Methods!

Please do come along...don't be put noff by not knowing people beforehand. Like I said in an earlier post, I didn't know Methods until I met her at the Xmas do Grin

Good stuff. Unfortunately still a bit on the expensive side for me [northern tightarse emoticon]

LadyOfTheManor · 14/03/2011 07:24

I don't mind collecting anyone on my way to save on train fare (unless it's cheaper to go by train and save on parking)....

If I can find cheap enough accom. and someone to put up with my snoring I'll try and make it.

nickelbabysnatcher · 14/03/2011 09:53

All of you who are scared - don't be!
I went for the first time to the Christmas one, and I was shit scared.
But everyone was lovely, and people talk to you all the time (was having huge problems remembering people's names!)

It was great.
