Hub, see you there Looking forward to seeing your sparkly top

anorak · 24/11/2005 09:41

Is anyone interested in sharing a cab going north towards A5, Cricklewood, Harrow, Watford sort of area?

Or Hampstead, Tottenham etc and further for me.

Flossam · 24/11/2005 10:27

Unicorn, will CAT you.

ThomCat · 24/11/2005 10:28

Hub - are you serious, do I really get to meAt you?!
WICKED

Flossam · 24/11/2005 10:32

Unicorn, will CAT you.

Hub, I said to you when you first mentioned it that I thought you should come. Will be good to see you there.

Sorry Oops and YG that you won't be able to make it. Hope you DD is better soon YG, and your mum too Ooops.

Time really is going to fly by now, and before we all know it we are going to be in a room full of (mostly) strangers.

hub2dee · 24/11/2005 10:32

Would be fun, eh, TC ! I'll just judge by how much enthusiasm / dissent there is, LOL. I don't want to feel people would think it too odd / stupid / strange IYSWIM. Anyway, regardless, one day we'll have a Sea Pebbles meet up, OK ? X

hub2dee · 24/11/2005 10:33

Or sea shells or whatever the chippy is called. Complete mental blank on that name, always, LOL.

ThomCat · 24/11/2005 10:35

Hub, everypone else mate, I want to meet you. But you HAVE to bring pics of the pickle and gush about her to me
Why on earth would you think anyone would think it odd, you big girls blouse, I'd think it odd if you didn't come. You can't dangle yourself like a carrot and then whip yourself away man! COME. Can you get a babysitter and bring Dee as well?

merryberry · 24/11/2005 11:21

Big girl's sparkly blouse you mean.

dropinthe · 24/11/2005 11:36

Myself and tigermoth are sharing a cab that will be booked at 1.00am travelling to Plumstead so if anyone would like to come in on it and be dropped off anywhere on the way home you are welcome.

chicagomum · 24/11/2005 11:37

Have finally got my computer back and are "settled" back in the UK. Haven't been on Mumsnet since late Oct so could some kind soul fill me in on any developments regarding this meet-up. (eg are we wearing badges etc)

serenity · 24/11/2005 13:31

If we're doing votes on whether boys are allowed, then I have to say I'm happy for Hub2Dee to come.

Just promise not to pull our pigtails, or bring any spiders/slugs in your pockets

And you're not allowed to sit in the corner with Tech and do man talk.

CountessDracula · 24/11/2005 13:35

ooh hub I really hope this doesn't go the same way as this one

hub2dee · 24/11/2005 13:39

chicago: I haven't been following all this very closely cos I got it into my nut I was not coming, but yes, I think badges are being discussed / made. There was a thread.

serenity: There was a totally ginormous slug on my deck the other day. I have covered him in salt and he is in my freezer, and if he comes, he's got your name on, LOL. If Tech wants, he is more than welcome to select a corner and discuss geekery. I am sure I will have to fight my way through the throngs (note the 'r') to reach him.

serenity · 24/11/2005 13:42

Why have you got a slug in your freezer?

(Am I going to regret asking this?)

ThomCat · 24/11/2005 13:43

Are you goning to come now then Hub? Come on, you know it makes sense.

hub2dee · 24/11/2005 14:05

Slug > species identification to the Royal Horticultural Society, serenity.

  • sorry, winding you up, but he was massive. I'm not very good at slug murder, LOL.

CD - Thanks for the link... perhaps those that have gone before me (I'm fairly sure this was before my time) have made the whole gender thing less of an issue, but, to be clear, I do understand the downside / unease that could be generated by a bloke (or blokes) being there, and I imagine there will be some people who would prefer no blokes to be there. I would guess / hope, however, that a far, far larger majority wouldn't mind, given the attendee in question had shown himself to be of 'reasonable character' IYSWIM and didn't appear to have an ulterior motive at odds with 'meeting a few faces' and having a nice evening.

Thanks Yorkie... I'll, erm, see how it goes today / tomorrow if I may... I don't want to presume my coming is OK with either the orgnanisers or the majority of people on the list etc. etc.

LadySherlockofLGJ · 24/11/2005 14:06

Just turn up FGS man, if needs be we will track you down and haul your ass to South Ken.

serenity · 24/11/2005 14:09

LOL at the image of MNers acting like Annabelle Whatisface (is my bum too big) in the Fast Show.

Groups of women standing around seriously discussing issues of great importance whilst sipping their wine. Hub2Dee and Tech walk in, and we revert to simpering, playing with our hair and drinking things with umbrellas in

ThomCat · 24/11/2005 14:10

Hub - anyone who would prefer not to have a bloke there is a weirdo freak and they can sit as far away as possible from you, and therefore me

Now shut it muppet and see you Saturday.

End of.

Next topic please

dinosaur · 24/11/2005 14:11

Do come if you want to, hub2dee. I can do footie chat, in extremis.

CountessDracula · 24/11/2005 14:14

you're welcome hub, no issues here!

dinosaur · 24/11/2005 14:17

And CD can do footie chat too.

CountessDracula · 24/11/2005 14:18

ooh no dino I can only talk footie to girls

With boys I am too busy fluttering my eyelashes and giggling to talk
