Yep...let's set a date...still recovering from jet lag now I am south again..

nightnighty · 20/04/2011 18:24

Hello and yes, I'd love make it this time. Did someone suggest a Thursday afternoon? Can't do tomorrow (going south- away from family), but next week would be fine for me, or the one after? I will have to bring my PFB DS.

Mothigail · 20/04/2011 18:32

I have a second hand Bugaboo that I bought on ebay that I wasn't embarrassed about until moving to Hackney. Can I join?

Mothigail · 20/04/2011 18:47

I realise I've just made reference to something that was said on this thread a long time ago. Not a good start.

Anyway: I moved to Stamford Hill in February. Know pretty much nobody in the area. I'd love to meet up with some of you some time, if you are open to awkward, shy, slightly desperate new-comers.

JenniferCanesten · 22/04/2011 10:03

Thursday next week then (28th) - can everyone make it? Shall we meet at Pub on the Park or whatever it's called in London Fields still. Maybe about 1pm or 2pm?

Hi Mothigail! You're just a little bit up the hill from me then - nice to have similarly awkward neighbour, your ds is same age as mine.

Perfect, will be there with a pint in my hand my small child.

Hi Motigall!

Mothigail · 22/04/2011 11:08

Hello hello! Thursday next week is good for me. Superb! Thank you!

JenniferCanesten · 23/04/2011 18:52

We probably don't need a pombear flag this time do we? I know what HZ looks like and I've pre-stalked Mothigail so I know what she looks like (hopefully haven't put her off...Grin).

HZ I am looking forward to meeting your baby!

You did not put me off! My letting the DeeEss pull your poor DeeEss's hair not once but twice was pretty amateur, though - I hope you can forgive that and my pitiful slowness with pasta removal. And also bringing my DeeAitch totally unannounced (he felt bad about upping the beard content of the meeting, sensing I needed to just bloody talk to someone who isn't bloody him).

We had a great and relaxing time to cancel out our crappy morning - so thanks!

JenniferCanesten · 24/04/2011 20:00

No lasting effects were felt aside from his hair smelling of tuna! Was nice to meet Mr Beard also (did he come with you in case I was a man with an axe?) though I don't think we let him get many words in as we were jabbering away in the demented manner of people who spend all day talking to a small child who's (whose?) only words are Dada and Ball, or A-Dada and Oo in my ds's case.

It's going to be a shock to the system when ds does learn to talk and it turns out that he has not in fact been agreeing with every single thing I say.

Looking forward to meeting you all but think I'll need more cues if I'm not going to miss you again. Looking for a group of women with assorted children won't really narrow down the field much at the park. And are we aiming for 1 or 2pm?

Maybe a flag, or an offline exchange of mobile numbers or something?

JenniferCanesten · 27/04/2011 09:43

I think we are going to meet in the garden of the pub if it is sunny, we will probably be the only group of women encrusted with babies so you will likely spot us a mile off! I think Boris adopted the flag for Borisland.

I will IM you my number just in case, though as it only works for texts, not calls as it is full of baby dribble Hmm (stupid new phone arriving today) probably would be good if someone else gives you their number too!

I'm aiming to get there for 1pm but who knows what spanner the baby will throw at my plans so could be a little later... Grin

Cool, will get there for one as have to pick up boris from nursery at half two. I will make a flag using my new baby and a wooden stick and some gaffer tape, that way you'll definitely see us Nighty...as a baby on a stick is quite distinctive.

nightnighty · 27/04/2011 21:26

Excellent. Even I'm unlikely to miss a baby on a stick. See you tomorrow

hackneyzoo · 28/04/2011 13:00

eek, just realised I have no one's number! Have just had to pick up a puking boris from nursery so all social engagements have been suspended. Damn my terrible cooking and poor hygiene standards! Hope you have an enjoyable pint...

JenniferCanesten · 01/05/2011 20:18

Hope poor old Boris is alright!
