anyone in Newcastle upon Tyne area?

Hello everyone! I've just moved to Newcastle and don't know any other parents here yet. My son goes to nursery but I never seem to be picking him up/dropping him off at the same time as other mums so don't meet them - and I work full time so can't do the coffee morning etc thing. Anyone else in the area that would like to meet up on a Saturday, or a Sunday afternoon (I work in the church so can't do Sun mornings)?

Just spent a lovely hour at the sealife center with Niceglasses and her wonderfully behaved DD. My own DS was a wriggly shouty monster!

Well, great to meet you too MT and your very cute ds - and just wait till you meet the 2 boyos...deffo not well behaved (well only some of the time. I like kids with a bit of spirit anyhoo.

we live dahn sahf so only get up there every couple of months. I'll keep an eye out for you and your ds and whisper "MonkeyTrousers!" at every woman I see with a nearly 2yo boy to see if it's you

sorry, I'm half-kidding Yankeemum . Ryton's a village in the Tyne Valley, west of Gateshead (past Blaydon, if you know where that is).

I think there are a few Newcastle-area MNers though - hopefully one or two of them will see this

I live in Heaton and have a 17wk old dd. There is a mumsnetter called HippyHoHo who also lives in Heaton (we go to the same mum and baby social group) and there are a few others. Popsycal is local and I think highlander is too though I havent met them.

Hi, I live in Heaton too, as Ladidadi said. I'll be back to work in a few weeks but would always try to make it to a shindig if I was availiable and there was something going on.
