Does anyone know if the centre of excellence is legit and if employers actually consider this in job applications? They are various online courses with modules.

I am thinking of getting into childcare and early learning.

They are paid courses where you obtain a certification. Details further on website below:

I took part in discussion on the AIBU thread linked below, and have since completed the Chemistry For Beginners course with them. The quality of the course material was variable (to put it mildly), although it did definitely reach Level 3 standard in the more challenging modules. The 150 CPD points it endowed upon me on completion isn't useful in any standalone context.

In your place, before committing yourself to it I think I'd contact a few childcare or early learning providers and ask them what credence they would give to the certification. If you do decide to go ahead with it, don't select a course right away. Instead, sign up first for their e-mail updates and newsletters - they'll promptly send you a code which reduces the course price to around £30!
