Hi. I'm looking at starting the OU Beginners Italian course, LGXI001. I just wanted to ask if anyone has experience of their language courses? Would you recommend them? Grazie : )

Ooh, good question. I keep wondering about an OU languages course too. Are you considering any alternatives as well, OP?

Hi Audio, no just looking at the OU. I'd like to do more structured language learning, but also have access to the library, so two birds with one stone so to speak.

How much scope do the courses provide for speaking and listening in the language?

Reading and writing are important, but understand what you hear and being able to say what you want in the language is key.
