Learning basic English for adults with dyslexia

I'm not sure I'm putting this in the right section but hopefully someone can help!

I have a 30 Yr old relative who had a lot of trauma during his childhood, very disrupted schooling, has dyslexia but got very little support, and left school with an F in maths GCSE and ungraded English.

He has significant mental and physical health issues. He wants to improve his prospects and recently tried to return to college to take Functional Maths and English but unfortunately found the classroom environment too stressful, and the college were unable to offer suitable support.

I'm wondering if people could suggest any learning apps or websites that offer a free trial so that he could build up his confidence a bit on the basics, then move forward to either working with a tutor or returning to college.

We also suspect he has adhd so apps or programs with short chunks would be most beneficial.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
