HiA bit of background on me - I'm a mid forties married mum of 2 teenagers working full time in accounts that I have worked in all my working life. I have never progressed to anything other than accounts Assistant and I am feeling very stuck and motivated. I moved jobs last February due to circumstances beyond my control and I know I made the wrong decision at the time.I have considered some sort of retraining or getting a job in retail but they tend to be small part time hours.I really need some advice so I can stop this going round and round in my head!

Go for it! It's never too late if that is what you want to do. You'd have lots of transferable skills to offer. Don't put yourself down! I'm in a kind of similar boat to you. In my 40s and at a crossroads in life!

Is there an OU course that would be relevant? I know several people who retrained via the OU and are now in senior roles.
