OU - very behind, in a panic

Agh - exactly that

Have got in a real mess. Doing 90 credits - level 2. 2 weeks behind in one and four in the other. Has anyone got this behind and pulled it back? Feeling totally overwhelmed which is making it worse and harder to study..

Any advice welcome!

Is deferring one module an option? I couldn't have done two at the same time after L1.

How soon are your TMAs? Read through the student notes and focus on the 'relevant materials' they have suggested.

Also you can get in touch with student support if you feel overwhelmed and they can give you advice specific to your module(s).

Don’t worry at all. Send them a message. They will bend over backwards to help you.

Ah absolutely feel you, though I only studied one module at a time so huge respect for that! My suggestion would be deep breaths and make a plan first of all this evening - work back from when your TMAs are due and identify what time you have, then block out time for reading and drafting for each module so you have a clear study plan to catch back up. Agree with @stresspl focus in on the relevant materials, leave the rest for now while you try and catch back up. Also do look at extensions and get in touch with your tutor/s especially if they’re close together or due soon.

You’ve got this - just make a start on getting back on track and keep going, little and often bite sized chunks of work will get you there

Thanks so much, but I don’t see a message

All your messages are super helpful. I have considered differing, but I have organised my life around getting this degree done quite quickly, so taking longer will cause practical/ financial problems. If it comes to it I may have to. I am also considering that if I don’t do very well in one module I could still get a 2.1 overall, so that might be something, although not ideal. I have a TMA due Monday (already have an extension), then 26/2 then 13/3 and so it goes on. Slowing down, making a plan and concentrating on the task in hand are all things I need to do. And trying to stay positive. Thanks again all - will let you know

If it’s not in your inbox, try sending me a PM and you’ll probably see it then :))

I have been very behind a couple of times. Look at your next TMA and concentrate on those chapters. And let your tutor know, they will give you really good advice (I know this is true but have never done it myself!) And don't be disheartened, it is so easy to get behind when distance learning alongside everything else you need to do.
