Hello.I'm a mum of 2 and I currently work as a nursery nurse for one of the large chains. However, I would like train as a Social Worker in the next 2 years when my youngest starts school full time.I hold Ba in Childhood and Youth Studies (2:1).Can anyone tell me what kid of expertise do you need to be accepted on the course?I also work with 2 SEN children.I would like to do it quicker but my daughter is still very young 17m and my work provides generous childcare discount and I would loose all the funded hours too. Thank you.

Hi, I teach on a Social Work degree at a UK university. If you have a BA already, you would be considered as an applicant for the MA Social Work. We also run a Master's Apprenticeship Programme in Social Work.

If you wanted to do a BA or BSc in Social Work as an apprentice, you could explore applying through a funded local authority route where if accepted you would get a wage too.

I would look at which of your local universities offer various Social Work routes and programmes, email their Admissions Lead and ask to have a chat.
