Is it possible to make a living as a psychotherapist in London?

I am in my 50s and am seriously thinking about retraining. I live in a naice area of London where I think there is demand, but am interested in whether people actually manage to make a living. I know about insurance, supervision, room hire etc.

I can’t comment on London but here in the north west city I live in plenty of my former peers are doing well, the ones that live in ‘mumsnetty’ areas, anyway. Other factors, they tell me, are networking, and a really good profile on the directories.

Have you decided on your training route? Doing a highly reputable course will also help, in terms of cosmetics and your practice, preferably a postgraduate one.
