Has anyone volunteered in an office?

I'm a SAHM (11 years) looking to go back to work into an admin or office role. I worked in admin before leaving to have child. I wouid like to volunteer in an admin/office role to refresh my skills and get used to a work environment also got add it to CV. Even just basic jobs like data input and filing are fine. Has anyone done this? I've approached two schools and they said they dont use volunteer administrators. Any advice?

Any local charities, Museums , attractions? Even those that are commercial enterprises?

No specific knowledge but could you approach a charity who might be looking for admin help? I volunteered at a hospice where they have volunteer receptionists.

I used to run an admin team at a hospice. Our volunteers were fantastic.

I would suggest contacting your local volunteer centre. They will be able to advise of a range of local charities who would welcome you.

Agree with pp. try the voluntary sector for small charities and organisations lime CAB. Many roles are flexible hours, although you may get the more mundane and repetitive tasks,

Admin work in a local charity got me back into work after a long break, they offered me a paid role after about 6 months.
