Adult Social Work Degree Apprenticeship interview

Hello!

I have an interview for an Adult Social Work Apprenticeship. It's going to be a group task and a panel interview. Does any one have any experiences they can share as to what the task may be or what questions they may ask me please?

Thanks in advance!

Do you know who's on the panel? Usually apprenticeship interviews have someone from the university too.
Do you have any experience in a similar post? You'll likely to be asked a safeguarding question, also how you'd balance study and work, your motivations for being a social worker, your strengths/weaknesses.
Good luck! :)

Thank you so much for the pointers! I'm from a counselling background so I have some transferable skills, but this will be totally new to me. I appreciate your input!

No problem!

I'd also be clued up on local social care issues; homelessness, generational poverty, mental health/hoarding for examples.
You may be asked what your expectations of a social worker are.
Also what is meant by social justice

I had to give an example of when I'd witnessed racism, whether in life or in person which led to a discussion on institutionalised racism and police brutality.

Remember they don't need to see a social worker in front of them... they'd train you to do that. They need to see someone who genuinely cares about society, who's passionate.

You'll be great!

How did you get on with your interview?
I saw your post and just wondered if it was Cambs county council you were interviewing for, and if so, have you heard anything back yet?
