Career change/Retraining - where to start ?!

What is the first port of call for finding a new career? I have just left my career of 15 years to start something new but nothing to go to. I have thought about something totally different like horticulture or floristry but as I've spent 15 years behind a desk I'm naturally a bit nervous.

How have others chosen a new career? How did you figure it out?

If you genuinely have no idea where to start and need a jumping off point - perhaps try the well tried book:

^What Color Is Your Parachute? 2023: Your Guide to a Lifetime of Meaningful Work and Career Success https://amzn.eu/d/7KxdTj6^

Get the most recent edition, work through it (even if it doesn’t all seem relevant to your particular situation) and it should help you to identify your priorities, skills and values, and work out the most sensible next steps.
