Distance learning music a level

I want to do a music a level for various reasons. I have 3 kids, job, the usual. I already have most of the necessary knowledge and experience but I want the piece of paper. Wondering if anyone has any recommendations how to do this - can I self teach and enter myself? I’ve found things online like trinity Laban but no idea if they’re legit. It all feels a bit scammy and like you’re buying a qualification.
