Counseling training - CPCAB courses

Hi all

I'm interested in changing careers and have been looking at retraining to become a counsellor. I've read quite extensively about CPCAB courses online and wanted to know if anyone has any experience of these courses? Or whether there are better ones to explore with different accreditors?

They are quite thorough courses but like any learning very much depends on the training organisation and the tutors! I like that the qualification is split over 4 years into level 2, 3 and 4 so you can complete level 2 and decide counselling training isn't for you but you still get the certificate for level 2. Indeed several of my peers did not continue training after levels 2 and 3 for various different reasons. You may have already done this but if not look at the candidate guides online which give more info about the academic requirements for the course. My advice would be to choose an organisation with experienced tutors if you can. I don't know about any other courses with different accreditation but good luck whichever you choose.
