Does anyone know of any free resources where I could refresh my mental arithmetic.

I don’t know if this is this kind of thing you’re looking for but the bbc also has lots of learning and revision stuff up to GCSE Maths.

Free videos and downloadable worksheets to help adult learners improve their calculation and numeracy skills.

If you mean specifically doing sums in your heads. I would start with times tables and number bonds that make 10 and then make 20

2+? = 10

we teach other as a family in the car to help the kids learn and its improved my mental arithmetic so much. Maths is very much my strength as I did it for a degree but I’m still teirrible at mental arithmetic- I do have mild dyslexia so wondered if liked to that. I put times tables and 10 & 20 number bonds into my head while helping the kids and I’m much more confident.

good luck with your studies. There are many more approaches now so find the one that works for you.

I’m a maths teacher. I recommend looking at Corbett maths 5-a-day. They have various levels starting with numeracy and as the name suggests, you do 5 questions a day!!
