Full time work and part time online MA

I'll be starting an online MA (creative writing) in January, part time across 2 years. I'll also be working full time (remote, copywriting). And raising 1 preschool aged DC.

Looking for tips/experiences of other full time working mums who are doing or have done a part time MA.

I was teaching full time and did an MA with two children just started secondary school.I won’t pretend, it was very very hard (not much help at home from DH or children though). I got through it but think I could have done much better and didn’t really enjoy it.

I was in my second year of teaching and had two children at Primary School when I started my online MA with the OU. You have to be organised but we all survived and the children respected me for working so hard. When I went onto a PhD they just thought I was mad.

I did this - I started on maternity leave but did most of it when I was back at work. My saving grace was mine was exam-based so I could cram for it. I did another post-grad qualification which had assessments and that was more tricky, not least as they often coincided with busy times at work. It wasn't impossible though, just meant working at night generally for a few hours rather than hanging out and watching TV.

Hats off to those that taught and studied! I used to teach before I had my DC and felt absolutely zapped just by the job.

I'm about to start my 3rd module of my undergraduate degree with the OU, and I am going back to work full time. Reception and year 5 aged kids. I'm really not sure how I'm going to fit everything in, so im here for some tips!
