Business Analysis - which online course?

Hi all,

name changed so not outing.

Currently on mat leave and want to get a course / qualification behind me to aid career development. I work loosely with BA’s today and my role involves some BA activity I complete myself, I’ve been lucky in that I’ve worked to where I am without a qualification as such despite often roles needing one - six sigma / LCS etc etc been promised the company will pay for the last 5 years now and I always seem to be ‘your next’ and then budget is removed. I want to try and move away from this work now and get into BA roles, if I was to apply for roles I’d probably have to take a grade lower which I don’t want so hoping having some course behind me I can demonstrate where I’ve used the theory in practice (though it’ll be a big backwards)

so has anyone completed a BA course or any recruiters out there can give any insight on ones to avoid?

thank you

Does it need to be a course? The BCS (used to be ISEB) international diploma in Business Analysis is well recognised, and sometimes (in my experience) used as a filter. The modules are standalone qualifications. You can pay for training (gets very expensive), but particularly if you are already experienced you can buy the books, self study and book the exams direct.

Thank you,

wow yes very expensive. I can always pick one or two modules for now and work on the rest in the future. I was hoping there was a six sigma belt system for BA but I suppose this is too.

thanks again
