Best teaching assistant course

Which TA course is best and most recognised qualification, please?

I would like to train as a teacher but think I should get some experience under my belt first.

I thought as a good way to get experience, I'd do a TA course first and then progress from there.

Something like this?

I think your idea would be a waste of time. Why not just go straight to the teacher training?

Where I live (South east), schools are finding it difficult to recruit & retrain Teaching Assistants. Looking at our very local area, there are 15 TA vacancies currently being advertised and none of them are asking for applicants to have any TA qualifications or experience.

@SurpriseSparDay because I don't live in the UK. I have looked at iQTS and iPGCE but I'm struggling to find placements in any of the school here.

I thought if I had a TA qualification I might be take more seriously.

Ah. That does presumably make a difference?

I don't know but perhaps if would add credibility to my placement requests.

It feels like so many barriers.
