Retraining from HR?

Has anyone ever moved out of HR and into a different career, whether related or not?

I’ve been in HR for 10 years, worked my way up from a trainee/entry level but I have fallen out of love with the job. I moved companies somewhat recently as I thought it may be that my role at that particular company was unfulfilling and a change would help, but I still feel the same way. I just don’t enjoy the work, the responsibilities or the isolation that comes with HR. I feel burnt out and uninspired.

I have only ever worked in HR, and I don’t have a degree, so feel somewhat limited in where I can go. I would be keen to avoid too much of a pay cut too, although my current role pays quite well so I imagine I’ll have to accept a cut of some sort.

I don’t think a Recruitment agency would be for me, but perhaps L&D although I’m finding it difficult to find any roles currently.

It would be great to know whether anyone has successfully moved into a different role using their HR background, I ideally want something new and exciting. I do enjoy working with people and would be open to something non-administrative.

thanks!
