Cipd through online training provider - financial help?

I have just enrolled on a Cipd level 5 via an online training provider. I'm a single parent and trying to find out if I'm entitled to any help? I went on gov site. Created an account but it keeps asking for the university which isn't applicable. There doesn't seem to be any options for training elsewhere? I've looked everywhere and nothing gives a straightforward answer. Do I need to inform universal credit? Thanks in advance

Ask your work coach to earn their wages and research this for you.

I would love to do this also but it's 5K I don't have.

have you had a student loan before? If not apply for one.

If you are socially housed sometimes your housing association can help, just ask.

Ask the local council, call the benefit maximisation team and see what there is around.

But ultimately I don't think so as I did a little bit of research myself but you could uncover something I didn't.

I got £500 off my housing association to get back into self-employment which really helped me.

Hi
Thanks for your reply. I work 20 hours a week so I don't have a work coach.

Not had a student loan before but when I tried it keeps asking me for the university which is not who it's through.

Are you working in a related role? I did my level 5 CIPD through the apprenticeship levy, so work pjs the college for the course, although online providers can be used I think. I also got 20% of my work time to study.

Oops work paid! The college

I tried this but had to be working 30 hours. Work have offered to pay half so that's something I just wondered if there was something I was missing.

Half is a start! Good luck with the course. Worth noting that When you start paying your CIPD membership, you can claim tax back on it.

butterfly2009 · 28/03/2023 18:09

No work are paying half when they invoice and I'm paying the other half.

Are they paying half the course or the yearly fees as well? I meant when you start paying membership fees each year, you can save a little by claiming tax back. You don’t have to register at the start but you do need a membership number to pass/get a certificate.

butterfly2009 · 28/03/2023 18:26

Work are paying half of the course.

Thanks. I think I'm going to have to call as they all require university name.
