Best certificate for Python

Hi (I posted this elsewhere but not sure if that was the right topic) Question to all the Techies on here pls:

Asking for a friend who is changing careers and wanting to go into Tech. What is the best (highest valued etc) certificate to obtain for competency in Python?

Thanks in advance. 😊

I'm not an expert but I think a certificate alone is not worth much, what is more important is using the skills learnt on a course to build up a portfolio of work. A lot of the certificates out there can be obtained fraudulently so a certificate in itself is of little value, but the knowledge obtained and proof of it is worth a lot more.

There have been plenty of other threads on breaking into tech, they are worth looking at for advice. In general it is easier to shuffle into tech exploiting your existing experience than starting fresh.

Echo what the PP said, a certificate is only worth something with the knowledge of how to use it practically.

I work with data and use Python in my job, good place to start is the official documentation, w3 schools and codecadamy. I’ve never been asked about formal qualifications only experience.

Ah ok @MatureStudentToBeMaybe and @FellRunner94 , I see what you mean and yes many job adverts ask you to share a portfolio of your code. I will let the friend know, many thanks for your advice. 😊
