Hi everyone,
I posted a little while ago on AIBU about a possible move to Newcastle, mainly due to unhappiness in current career, cost of living, DH office there etc etc. Anyway had discussion with my parents who were horrified about the prospect of us moving away. Anyway to cut a long story short they have offered to provide financial/child care and any other support to enable me to change/train for alternative career.
For context i am a HCPC registered health professional, qualified for 16 years. I had looked at clinical assessor roles (PIP assessment etc) that although is open to HCPC registered professionals, they are not open to my profession ( i have rung a couple of these companies and they have confirmed this). I am only trained to do this particular role and never really sat down and thought about what I'd like to do.
So has anyone who has previously been a health profession and re-trained in a new job? Pros, cons and success stories welcome.
TIA

But what would you like to do?

What are you interested in? What are you good at? What are your priorities for a new occupation; career progression / salary / level of responsibility / artistic creativity / travel?

Obviously, browse the threads here - but if you can suggest where your interests lie, other posters may be able to offer useful experiences.
