Dissertation/secondary data

Anyone want to help with this?
I'm an older student and feeling out of my depth with this dissertation. Meeting my supervisor this week.
I'm just looking at what data is available and I can't access the main study I was hoping to use as it's special access and undergraduates can't apply. Do I just forget about it now? And mention the lack of access as a limitation?
Do I tweak my research question to fit the data that I can access?
If I'm completely wrong please correct me.

I'm no expert but DS gas recently finished his Masters and I know he got access to additional information via his dissertation tutor. Is it something your tutor might be able to give you access to or at least you can discuss the way forward with your tutor.

Meet with one of your academic librarians - they'll be able to help with finding/access to resources as well.
