Early Years Educator level 3

Hello all. I wondered if anyone was in he same boat as me. I’m currently a year and a half into the level 3 qualification and I’m really behind and struggling. I’m doing it with Learn Direct so it’s very much left up to you to get on with. My tutor never checks on me and if I email questions she replies very short answers. There’s just so much writing and practical write ups to do. Tutor visits have been suspended because of COVID. I would love to be able to qualify but it seems impossible now. Has anyone else dropped out of this course? I feel like a failure as I never seem to be able to commit to anything.

I googled … Learn Direct was graded ‘Inadequate’ in 2017 and there seem to have been complaints in 2018 - after that it’s all a bit vague.

I know nothing about it, but I wonder if you’ve looked into any possibility of transferring your study to another provider if things don’t improve?

How did you get on with this? I couldn't get on a course because of covid and now, 2 years after I have been working in early years I am 5 months into the course ... OMG it is mind numbingly boring and I am getting increasingly frustrated by the workload and the assignments. It's level 3, not a degree!!!

@slightlyslumamama I had to give up, I was really struggling. It was just so much work, I couldn’t believe how much was involved. I would reach out to everyone if you’re feeling overwhelmed like I was. See if you can get the support early before it gets too much. Also push to have visits because it my understanding that they can tick off certain things on levels when they come to assess you.

I had to leave early years and go back into working in accounts because I had to pay my employer back for the course and I wouldn’t have been able to on the wage I was on.

I am so sorry to hear that. It doesn't make sense as there are not enough early years staff and to get the qualification for level 3 is ridiculous. Thank you for the tip about visits. I just hope I can get through this! I love my job and just would rather spend the time on CPD than getting a qualification to do the job I already do. Good luck to you in your accounts job
