Thinking about training in Bookkeeping

I’m 45, spent the last ten years in mental health nursing, have finally left the profession and a SAHP. My youngest child will turn two in a few months. I want to do some home study and do something away from mental health and healthcare. Also looking to work from home in the future. So I’m thinking Bookkeeping. I’ve seen some courses which I’m looking into further. But would really value some advice, are there any bookkeepers on here or are you currently retraining in this role? How are you finding the courses?

What are the courses you’re looking at?

I have been looking at this, for me more to add to my skill set rather than completely retrain.

I would strongly advise you to find a course that at least has an element of learning quickbooks and xero (both bookkeeping software) these are the systems that I see mentioned most in bookkeeping jobs.

@EdmontinaTiresofNameFlipping, I’ve seen a level 2 certificate with ICB and also looking at AAT courses.

Thank you for your advice @Moonflower12345, have you found a suitable course that adds to your current skill set?
