What masters would you do in my shoes?

Hi Mumsnet brains trust,

A few years ago I did a media degree, and currently work as a media advisor.

I am starting a masters next year and was wondering if I might be making a mistake staying in the same field (considering the relatively low future earning potential).

What would you study if you were in my shoes and looking to potentially make a change?

I have strong writing skills, people skills etc, just looking for ideas I can investigate really.

No answer I'm afraid, as I'm in a similar industry to you. Following to see your responses Grin

Surely the starting point is what you want to do or what interests you?

I'd probably do something in social sciences because that's my interest. What's yours?

It depends where you want your life to go. Are you looking to progress? Would a Business or Management Masters serve you better? Or excel in your role/field?

What was your motivation in applying for the postgraduate degree you’ve been accepted for?

Thanks everyone.

In terms of my goal, my priority at the moment is just to earn more. For instance, one of the courses I've been accepted to is a Masters of Health Communication which would help me to get a role at a pharmaceutical company. I'm a bit of a workaholic and want to be compensated better for the time and I put into work (over the course of my career, not just the next few payrises)

I'm really interested to hear people's thoughts about MBAs.
